On this page you will find a few of the more rare and hard to find pieces in my collection. If you have any questions as always you can contact me through the message board.
If you click on the thumbnail it will bring up a larger view.
This
is the Playmates Dathon. This figure came with the "Pog or Space cap"
as they were called rather then the card that was with the more common one. This
version was released only in Australia and the UK and reportedly there were only
(1,100). The resource guide at http://www.newforcecomics.com/trekref
says that 700 went to the UK and 400 to AU.
This
is the Playmates "Trifold Borg". This figure was never sold in stores
and was a promotional item given away by Paramount hoping to sell TNG syndication
and promote First Contact. The term "Trifold" refers to the unique
card the figure is mounted on. I have read that Playmates has stated that 500 or
less of these were made.
These
are the "1701's". These three figures, the Picard from "Tapestry",
the
Yar from "Yesterdays Enterprise" and the Barclay from
"Projections" were each only made in 1701 figures hence the
term "the 1701's". Playmates, due to collectors outrage over the limited numbers, increased the
Barclay to 3000.
This
is the Playmates Data from Redemption. This was part of a 4 pack released through
J.C.Penney in
their Christmas catalog. In order to full the order Playmates made this figure
from spare parts to get them done in time to fill the Penny's Christmas order.
However, Playmates switched gears right after this and started making the new
figures for Generations and never got back to this one. This is the U.S. version
that I have. There is also a Canadian version that I do not have. From what I
have read Playmates made around 5,500 in the U.S. version, around 2000
figures were made in the Canadian version.
These
are the Canadian versions of these figures with the "Pog or Space Cap"
as opposed to the standard common versions. I have not seen any numbers on the
amounts these were made in but they can be very hard to find.
This
is the Playmates "removable visor" LaForge. Then this figure first
came out in 1992 the visor was removable and was shown on the package that way.
Soon after the release it was decided that this was a chocking hazard and so the
visor was fixed permanently and the package was changed to reflect this.
This
is the Playmates " Mail away Sisko". This figure earned it's name from
the fact that you had to purchase a Deep Space Nine : Crossroads in time video
game and from that you could mail in a offer to get him. Only 4000 of these were
made and did not come with any accessories. It was shipped in a plain plastic
bag,
These
are the 3 Thomas Rikers that I own. From left to right, the US Thomas Riker with
Brown accessories, the U.S. Thomas Riker with purple accessories and the Canadian
Thomas Riker. The Thomas Riker was a simple repaint of the first series Riker
made in much lower numbers.
This
is the Playmates Intendant Kira
from the episode Crossover.
According to the Trek Reference guide at New Force Comics approximately
8,333 of these were produced.
These
are the Playmates Star Trek Generations Movie figure in the US and in the European
versions. The US one on the left was released on about 10,000 figure and the
European version on the right was limited to about 1000.
This
is the Playmates Miles O'Brien from the episode Trials and Tribble-ations. This
figure was limited to 10,000 figures.
This
is the Playmates Seven of Nine in her Cobalt Blue Uniform. This started out to be a
Target Exclusive, but Target did not order this series. This was sold only in
European, and Australia and the run was limited to 3,000.
These
are the Playmates Spencer Gifts exclusive Picard and Riker. These figures had a
production run of approximately 6,000 each.
This
is the Playmates Target exclusive Seven of Nine. Only 7,500 of these were
produced and the figure was very popular making this a hard one to find.
This
is the Art Asylum Trip Tucker Broken Bow figure.
Conner Trinneer agreed to sign 100 figures in an effort to help raise money for
the Save Enterprise.com's efforts to keep Enterprise from being cancelled. This
autograph is the only difference from the normal figure.
This
is the Galoob Data. Galoob had a problem with the face color when they started
making the Data. This is the "spotted face" version. This figure can
be found with flesh, brown, spotted or blue skin. the blue is the most rare
followed by the spotted.
These
are the 9" Kirk and Spock from the episode A Piece of the Action. Playmates
released 5000 of each figure in 1996 and were Kaybee Toys exclusives.
These
are the 12" Kirk and Spock from the episode, A Piece of the Action. The
12" figures were a New Force Comics exclusive limited to 1000 of each
figure.
This
is the Playmates Kirk as a Romluan. This figure was an exclusive to the Official
Star Trek Fan Club. The run was limited to 3500 and came with no accessories
expect for a Certificate of Authenticity.
This
is the Playmates 12" Seven of Nine. This figure was part of the Women of
Star Trek series. This figure is very popular and can be hard to
find.
This
is the Playmates Amok Time Twin Pack sold exclusively at New Force Comics. This
set was limited to a production run of 3000.
This
is the Art Asylum T'Pol Deluxe. This was part of what was to be a 4 piece bridge
set. The first two pieces ( the Archer and Reed ) did not sell nearly as well
as hoped and so this piece was limited to sales though online and comic book stores in
a much smaller amount. The Mayweather set was not made at all.
This
is the Playmates Voyager. Released towards the end of the Playmates run they
were made in smaller quantities and were hard to find.
This
is the Playmates Enterprise E. This ship is from the movie Insurrection and was
made to correct inaccuracies in their first attempt. This was released in 98 and
was hard to find.
