Why even bother since you'll probably end up hating it too since it'll be a modern show?

I don't hate shows because they are modern, I hate them when they piss all over what came before and disrespect fans that have spent a great deal of their lives enjoying and supporting the franchise and then they come along and act as if you don't matter to them anymore. Fuck CBS until they show some respect to those fans too.

Some people should just shove it in their signature and move along.

I just know if CBS All Access reboots The Twilight Zone they'll ditch the aesthetic of the original in favor of making it "contemporary" to appeal to morons who insist on everything being in color. So lazy.

Yep, decided to just pull the trigger and ignore them.

They arent worth the frustration anymore.

I doubt it will look... or feel anything like the original. I thought Amazing Stories was supposed to be a kind of reboot... and I don't ever thinking it quite captured the original feel.

Sterling had some great scripts... so I think it'll come down to that.

But you know... if they choose to do it in Black and white... that might be inspired... TZ always had a "Noire" feel to it.

I may be wasting precious thumb energy here typing this on my phone and all, but what EXACTLY have CBS pissed all over? Im genuinely interested in what you think theyve done to disrespect fans?

Sure DISCO has some issues (for me personally) but by and large, Im having a hard time trying to figure out what cbs have done to truly anger you as much as they have.

How many episodes are in a season? I might get the service for one month after the run and binge watch ala Netflix

I think they settled on 15. but there will be a break until spring I think, so wait until they are all out. Also... if you didn't do a free week trial... you could easilly get 15 episodes in a week!

ah! here we go!

Riding high off the early success of the new series, CBS has announced a slight shuffle to its Star Trek: Discovery schedule.

Originally, the plan was for eight episodes to air through to November, leading into a midseason break through to January, at which point the final seven episodes would get underway. However, we’ll now be getting nine episodes in the first half of the season, with the final six being held back until after the break.

Star Trek: Discovery is proving to be a big hit for CBS, with the network announcing that it has surpassed expectations with regards to CBS All Access subscribers, with the streaming service’s numbers up 200% since Discovery’s premiere last month.

Having the exclusive content is the differentiator in the new market. You can't just be a re-seller of content because others will compete with you at commodities pricing. So CBS seems to be working the right model.

The CW has another interesting streaming model... one of the few streaming channels that is free and you can watch any of their content... but it all has commercials. Still I like some of the shows and don mind some commercials, even on demand.

200% can evaporate overnight with streaming services. So many to choose from today, you need to have good content to choose from consistently to keep subscribers. The only one that keeps me consistently interested is Netflix.

Apparently it's performing even better than CBS expected. Someone's making their annual bonus this year!

It can but it wont. Im sorry VF but youre completely out of touch. All Access will continue to produce good, original programming and eventually CBS may produce all or most of their drama and TV for streaming - TV on demand.

Discovery boosting All Access 200% is just a testiment over the popularity of Discovery and of Star Trek as a whole.

Personally Id take the lemon out of your mouth and stop sucking the bitterness.

It's a testament to so many free subscriptions to see Discovery that may not be there when the first months bill comes due.

Some people just can't handle being minorities, especially in the United States. Especially below the Mason-Dixon line.

Bla bla bla bla... its a testiment to how good Star Trek: Discovery is that most who had subscribed for this show, are still subscribed, will continue to be subscribed to All Access and Netflix to enjoy not just Star Trek: Discovery but every other Star Trek series plus other content and new content both streaming services will surely add to retain customers and to entice new customers to the service.

Like anything, the quality of the product is key... if Star Trek: Discovery is any indication, All Access is just going to go from strength to strength with more quality Star Trek: Discovery seasons and new Star Trek series that will keep fans hooked. Not to mention other original content and popular shows only available on All Access.

All youre doing VF, with every post is further alienating yourself with this community. Not to mention the fact that you are so out of touch, so bitter and so set in your ways, you simply sound completely moronic.

Carry on sucking that lemon.

1701D, Its true that not everyone that signed up for the free trial stuck it out... but allot did... by one metric... people that sub'ed using the mobile app... the number of actual paying sub'ers almost doubled, and that was real revenue as measured and collected by the apps... and that doesn't include people signing up on the website (like I did) or through other streaming devices.

CBS currently has (had?) some of the best comedies with Big Bang theory and 2 broke girls.. at least I like them... I'm looking forward to the new comedy that will be exclusive.. Its not perfect... and I hope the service gets better, but I decided to put my money down and give it a try. At $99 for the year... commercial free... I figure why not... thats $8.25 per month... and if they keep new content coming that I'm interested in, why not... I waste more than $99 on lots of other trinkets in my hobbies.
