Here is a quick side by side I made for the nacelles so you can compare the two better. I like it quite a bit.

Now that the nacelles are almost done I have begun the HUGE task of the main body..... Wow.... What have I got myself into!!! LOL

I imagine that if it matches up to what I'm picturing based off of your descriptions, it'll be awesome and worth the effort.
It'll also be very one of a kind, which is cool. I wish I had the skill to build my own Enterprise.

Wow!!!! The Enterprise E pylons worked better than expected. Perfect fit !!!

I mounted the pylons to the nacelles and they work perfectly..... I like the way they look also !! I will be using the aves epoxy sculpt to reinforce and thicken the pylons.
Here is what's going on with the primary hull so far...... ( I like the Enterprise bridge module on the Voyager hull !!)....

By far this is the most ambitious modeling project I have ever undertaken.
This thing is HUGE !!! Almost 26" long !!

The saucer looks a bit bigger in person compared to the nacelles..... The angle of the photo makes the saucer look a bit small....

Honestly STO's Odyssey popped into my head with some of the ships lines. Probably isn't a surprise since I imagine whoever designed it used the Intrepid and Soverign as part of the process.
I really have grown to love the Odyssey class, and this is probably going to look even better.

The Odyssey is the new F ??? I kind of like it but Im not real crazy about the two pillar walls connecting the saucer to the the secondaty hull.... It doesn't scream "Enterprise" to me.

Oh.... BTW thanks again Alteran for convincing me to get rid of the sensor palette on the saucer..... It was waaaaaay to Intrepid Class looking.

Obviously yours is different, and I have a feeling I'll like it more.
The dual walled neck isn't to bad, it's an interesting concept, but it doesn't seem very smart for combat reasons. It seems more vulnerable to me than normal necks, and especially the lack of necks on newer ships.
I also like the lack of a sensor pallet a lot on the Intrepids saucer, I'm glad you took my advice.

That's looking great. Kind of reminds me of my Voyager refit 3D model I did a while back.
I remember your Voyager Refit.... They do look alike !!!!

This is definitely an Explorer Ship but she has teeth !! I want some of the Ds elements to be present as an Exploration vehicle but also have elements of the E and then move it all forward as the F .... She is big so can hold large crews and passengers but she is armed ferociously. I've also imagined that the Drive System is a Warp and Slipstream Hybrid so she can achieve phenomenal speeds. The Odyssey is indeed the new F. The second picture in your first post is what reminds me of it.

Looking amazing so far, man! The job on the nacelles is what's most impressive to me so far (I really don't like the JJ-prise, but the work you've done has made them look great).
