Holy crap, that's incredibly nice. I'm glad I never found a decent deal to get the original release, I will have to grab this version. I always felt the TOS Enterprise's gray was a little too dark and that looks perfect. It makes all the darker gray details stand out more, and just makes the model feel more properly proportioned in comparison to the darker gray, which has always made it feel smaller than it should. I really, really hope they release a regular 1701 with that color scheme now.

I'm hoping mine looks as good as yours does, I love the detail on the HD which is why I've been looking forward to this release. It's so hard to find one for a decent price on eBay or amazon.

Yes, definitely going to take a pop at this. I avoided it last time because of the issues with it, and because to be completely honest, my partner at the time bought me the wrong one (I think it's the pilot version - nacelles don't light up, and have pointy deflector dish thingy on them)!

That new paint colour looks gorgeous as well. As always, thanks for the videos guys.

Wow, ok... this has made the decision to acquiesce to my nephew's desire for one of these all the easier!

(I'm gonna package up my old one for him... shhhh!)

Have you guys switched it to play mode yet? Does it still have the same ridiculous sound selection as the original HD release?

I really hope they stuck a "Regular TOS Enterprise" sound board in it for this release - that'd be the icing on the cake.

Unfortunately it is still the original HD chip....So Kirk still says " United Federation of Planet." LOL
