Horner was piloting the small aircraft when it crashed into a remote area about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, officials said. An earlier report noted that the plane, which was registered to the composer, had gone down, but the pilot had not been identified.

Obviously he's scored many other (amazing) films, but this is the one I think most of us will be remembering him for. :(

I remember him more for Rocketeer. I like this one too,and a few others he did,but Rockekteer, for me,was the best one. But I bet everyone has a favorite that he did.

So sad about this. He was a huge inspiration and his diverse, awesome body of work pushed me further into music and eventually into choosing a career writing music. I'm not sure what else to say about him but I think the last several minutes of music from The Wrath of Khan "say" what should be "said" at this time.

Yeah, I think Apollo 13, and Titanic were ones I really remember him for, but TWOK was also a big one for me too
