Issue 161 - Silver-blood Voyager (regular Voyager painted chrome). lol

#93973 Brand new 1:1000 Defiant coming later this year!

Posted by Jay K on 19 May 2018 - 09:40 PM

That shape. Twenty-five bloody years to get one, but FINALLY! :D

I'm buying two right off the bat. One to build really quickly (base coat blue, not grey!), and the decals. This'll be my 'toy' version - to play with, use as a frisbee, etc :)

One more to take my time on, putty out the seams, light up and fully paint (no paint decals, just the pennants and small details).

EDIT: Prometheus, just in case you haven't seen them/forgot about them:

;)

EDIT 2: Back of the box says it's 6 3/4 inches long. The 1/1000 scaling is based off a length of 170 meters, but if (like me) you prefer to think of the Defiant as being 120 meters, which lines up with Doug Drexler's MSD from the show, then this model will basically be the exact same scale as Eaglemoss' gorgeous Jem'Hadar bug! That's a ready-made diorama waiting to happen!

Great post, man!

I'd absolutely love a TNG/DS9 Phaser Rifle (the one displayed above)...maybe one day. :)

All the Klingon stuff is straight-up styled after H.R. Giger -- there's just no other way of putting it. I didn't think this was possible, but they did it.

Morgan, I don't think I've ever seen a post of yours that I've disagreed with, but with this one, I'm going to have to say (jokingly ;) ) that this comment is bordering on insulting...to H.R. Giger!

Posting this here (sorry if there's a thread already - feel free to repost this), but Eaglemoss have posted the first two ships from their Battlestar Galactica collection:

Viper MkII, and Cylon Raider.

If you're a subscriber, you should be getting the ring ship today/tomorrow, as well as the Buran. Voyager goes up for general sale on the website (not just pre-order) on January 8th/9th (something close to then at least!).

Also, some new previews for today:

#92395 Brand new 1:1000 Defiant coming later this year!

Great to see you back dude. :D

As for the kit...

Spoiler

I could go on, and on, and on, but I'll simply say that to my eye (and I really know the Defiant), that's pretty much spot-on. The deflector is perfect, the bump is gone from the nose (which was on the 1/2500 version), yeah. I'm in for at least three, and if the glowy parts are cast so as to allow lighting, then wow! :D

I'm so happy this is getting made, I think it's gorgeous (Andy Probert's original Enterprise-C). Speaking of which, the version we get will be the Enterprise-C, and not the Ambassador as depicted above.

#90669 "New ‘Star Trek’ Series Coming to CBS in 2017"

Posted by Jay K on 21 August 2017 - 11:33 PM

I'm so glad none of the naysayers here are doctors. They wouldn't even fully examine the patient to pronounce him dead.

Seriously, Trekkies have no idea what they want. The fandom is a far cry from a hive mind, that's for sure. Some of you even contradict yourselves. I don't envy the powers that be.

As opposed to people like you perhaps, who would be satisfied with being told a patient is in good health - regardless of their moans of agony/pain, because a colleague told you so? His leg's on backwards and he has nine thumbs now, but the senior nurse said he's completely fine!! :D

Trekkies are unique in that we're not all 'one', sad as that is. We all like different aspects of the franchise, that appeal to us in different ways. For me, Star Trek was at its best between the start of the 80's, and the end of the 90's. This is mainly because each iteration built upon the last whilst respecting what came before; all the while looking ahead. Going forward is better than going backwards, primarily because you can affect change and implement new ideas. Ret-conning what came before (regardless of its place in continuity) is never a good idea.

#90476 McFarlane and Eaglemoss Sections in Engine Room

Totally agree.

To be honest as well, we could do with an active moderator or two around here, people who could do this kind of stuff on the fly. People who visit regularly, help people out if need be, could delete any vile photobucket links and replace them with some much more palatable imgur versions, and who could be trusted not to go on a power trip (editing posts they don't agree with, etc).

Basically, trustworthy regulars. If this is something FHC would consider, then I can think of no better first choice than Alteran.

If I could find a gif of Worf putting the Chancellor's cloak on Martok, I'd have put it here. ;)
