I did some checking on memory-alpha.org and some other forums where people were talking about the remastered Mirror, Mirror episode. The evidence at all those places suggests that even in the remastered version there were no empire insignia on the saucer or nacelles as are shown in the AFX graphic. Wonder what that's all about...if it looks as pictured, it won't be canonical. But I would rather have the insignia, canonical or not! =p

I don't think the emblem were on the remastered ones from my knowledge either. I just remember the Enterprise being a darker grey and that's about it. I don't think they even showed a top view of the ship in the episode, just a side view. I will take some screen caps because I have the Episode on my computer, the Remastered one.

As for it being an AFX Exclusive I wrote them an e-mail about that, because it doesn't say it is an AFX Exclusive, it says Exclusive...and so does the HD Enterprise, so it could be a PX Previews exclusive. And usually Rick at New Force gets that stuff anyway so i'm sure he'll get em.

But I do know the AGT Enterprise D is an AFX / Hastings Exclusive.

I hope they sort out the red bits on the front of the nacelles - you can see the light bulb inside mine, even if they just use opaque plastic, it would work better.

I really like the insignia and think it really adds to the overall look of the ship. If theres not a really good reference pic, the NX01 established that the insignia was placed on earlier ships so it could be argued that even if not seen on screen it was there. I was going to do a custom ISS Ent but I guess Ill have to scrap that and try my hand at a OGAM Enterprise M and alt universe constiution class vessel. More fun!!

Okay, so I just watched the Remastered Mirror Mirror and they DO show the top of the ship, and the Insignia are NOT there. I tried to take a screen cap but the computer wouldn't let me. So the insignia is something purely made up by DST

The Polar Lights model kit also had non-canon mirror insignia included in their TOS Enterprise kit. That may be where DST got the notion to add it to theirs.

Despite it being non-canon, it is a very attractive version.

I think the ship really needs the logo and in my mind is an oversight of the part of the remastering crew. Is the ISS clearly visble in that shot too?

Yes, the ISS is visible in the episode. Here is a screenshot from memory-alpha, which shows the top of the saucer in the remastered episode (this is surely what Mike saw when he verified). You can tell it is the remastered episode because of the more realistic planet. As I said earlier, I am with you -- I want the logos on there whether it is canon or not. smile.gif Maybe they leave them off but include them as stickers? I'd rather have them painted on.

That is the exact screen cap I was trying to capture but I just installed different drivers for my video card and now I can't take screen caps anymore. =(

As for ETA, Since it is just a re-issue I'm sure it will come out when DST says they will

HD Enterprise--Cool! It looks like they took my suggestion to heart. I love the subtle weathering on both ships, very cool. I definately think I'll get both the HD E and the Mirror E.

I'll be getting the HD Enterprise and the ISS Enterprise NCC-1701.

I have to say, I think that the TOS-R crew needs to go back and tweak that shot to include the Mirror Universe images on the ship. I know that they supposedly altered the standard 1701 after the first couple of episodes (minor overall improvements,) but I'm surprised that they didn't add the Mirror Universe insignia to the ship itself. The NX-01 had the Terran Empire logo plastered all over the ship, and while I realize it wasn't possible for them to do this when TOS was produced, it seems like TOS-R took a step backwards by not adding the Terran Empire logo to the ship in Mirror, Mirror. I mean, why would the Empire take their logo off of their newer ships?

While I'm not happy with what happened to my Cage and WNMHGB ships, and I'm not happy that my regular 1701 fell off the shelf twice last night for a second time, I will say that I love what DST is doing to the 1701. My only gripe is that this is the fifth (sixth if you count the gold Japanese 1701) variation of the 1701 that DST has done, and there are still plenty of ships we don't have, and the Enterprise-A and Enterprise-E have yet to see basic updates. Before DST gives us another 1701, I'd like to see them do some variations of another ship. Of course I know that instead of reissuing the 1701-A or the 1701-E, they'll probably give us five 1701-Ds on top of the two that they've announced.

In any case, both ships look awesome, I really like the "HD" ship, now if DST would give the Enterprise-E that treatment I'd be even happier.

I just got the first version of the 1701. If I'd known about the HD I might have waited but I'm happy with the one I got... EXCEPT... the stand. I saw it mentioned here a couple times and I'm sure it's been discussed ad nauseum (though I can't find the discussion at the moment) but I just wondered... has anyone found a way to correct the wobbly stand? I can pose the Enterprise exactly one way without it toppling over at the moment.

So, the regarding the Mirror Enterprise, does that logo appear on the Defiant from the ENT episode "In a Mirror Darkly?

What are the sound effects for the Mirror Enterprise? I don't see that listed anywhere.

The Defiant wouldn't have any markings from the Mirror Universe because it simply phased into their universe from the normal one.

That's right, now I remember the plot of the episode.

Is the ISS Enterprise just a repaint of another DST Enterprise? I am trying tfind out if this will have the sound effect of the phaser pulse and not just the phaser beam?

Anybody know? I am also thinking about maybe just picking up the HD Enterprise but I cannot find a list of the sounds anywhere.

JonWes, one of my 1701's has fallen on my head multiple times, (Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a catcher!) and one time it even broke the ship--okay two times but the second one was relatively easy to fix.

My first bit of advice would be to have the super-glue handy, if your ship falls and the "orange slices" come off of the nacelles (like one of mine did) you'll be able to glue it back on. Expect the "neck" portion of the ship to split in half as well, don't worry, this is easy to fix, but take your time to avoid breaking it further--as soon as you realize that pushing it back together will fix the ship, the problem changes from figuring out if it can be fixed to figuring out how to push the "neck" back together and have it "click" under the saucer, again this is pretty easy to do once you realize that if the ship were truly broken, the saucer would be dangling on the side of it with wiring hanging out.

To avoid breaking the ship at all, here's my recommendation, buy a tube of geninue "Krazy Glue," you know--the stuff that'll glue your fingers together in three seconds and stick to anything. Buy some acetone-based nail polish remover too just in case of the aforementioned scenario. (Acetone-based nail polish remover is the only way to keep your fingers from being glued together if you get the stuff on your skin.) Your stand is in three parts--the "base" with the delta shield, the "arm" that connects to the ship and a "nub" that actually goes into the ship and on top of the ball portion of the stand. Place the "nub" into the ship, and position it the way that you want on the stand. Lift the "nub" off of the stand, put the Krazy Glue on the stand and the inside of the "nub." You'll have to WORK QUICKLY once the glue is applied. Using the ship for leverage, push the nub with the glue on it into the stand with the glue on it. Position the ship to your liking and remove it from the stand without removing the "nub" as well. The nub should be down as far and firmly as possible on the stand. Wait 24 hours and voila--this should solve the problem with the stand cracking and wobbling and falling on you. The ship itself won't be glued to the stand because it doesn't have to be, but this is probably the best solution to the wobbly stand issue. I've had more problems from the "nub" cracking than the stand itself, so I recommend reinforcing the "nub" immediately when possible. Hope this helps.
