So there's a bit of light bleed on the nacelles, there's quite a bit on the impulse/crystal section and some around the bridge dome and a little bit around the sensor dome on the underside of the saucer. The plastic isn't translucent like the WoK ship, it looks very nice. Also they've put the ENTERPRISE back below the shuttle bay doors which I thought was a nice touch.

I'm very much hoping DST use this plastic and decoration if they ever redo the WoK enterprise.

Also I'm not sure if this is show accurate but the impulse engines light up blue/white and not red/orange

In fact they already re-issued the TWOK Enterprise (I think last year), if my memory serves me correct, there haven't been any major changes to it. But maybe they're gonna use the Ent-A plastic and decals for a new reissue.

The impulse engines are blue at some point in ST5, but they should be red all the time. Not sure why DST chose to make them blue, especially if you think about that the new Ent-A is labeled as the "Undiscovered Country" version, in which the impulse engines were red throughout the whole movie.

If they change plastic on the TWOK, wouldn't it no longer have the pearlescent effect since its the plastic that causes it? Unless they find some way to do it with the paint.

I'd rather have the TWOK keep the pearlescent look and plastic to differentiate it more then just not having an A in the registry.

I see where you're coming from, but to me the translucent thing really just kills the TWoK version. If they could coat the inside with something to prevent the light from shining through, then sure, but otherwise they are better off using the solid plastic. It just looks so much better.

Oh I agree, it certainly takes away from the look of the ship with it being translucent. My preference would be for them to switch plastic to the new As, and find some way to duplicate the pearlescent look with the paint job, but I don't know how feasibly something like that is cost wise. At the very least they could do some kind of aztecing on the TWOK that wouldn't be done on the A if they switched plastic.

I'd hate to lose the pearlescent look of it, because it does look really nice... when there are no lights shining on the plastic that shows how translucent it is...

I don't recall the Enterprise in Wrath of Khan having much of a pearlescent look to it? From memory I thought it had a more dirty, worn out look to it? I remember listening to a featurette on one of the Blu-Ray's regarding the changes ILM had to make to the Enterprise from TMP to WOK?

Certainly in TMP it had a gorgeous paint job.

I would love a new TWOK Enterprise with the death of Spock scene between Kirk and Spock and the captains monologue read by Leonard Nimoy as a sound clips... That would be an awesome tribute.

Lol, dangit. Still, a simultaneous roll out is uprecedented - we usually have to wait 1-2 months for them to arrive on this side of the Atlantic.

Oh don't I know it! Every time I go to the US or UK there's always different stuff that's out. But I have to admit I prefer to buy it in the US as it's way cheaper. Usually.

The only place I've seen them available is through the Amazon seller that I ordered mine through, whether it's actually the A or not I'll find out soon enough.

No other site I've checked has had the A in stock yet.

The A's are hitting the EU before the US because the ports in the US have been a little backed up. Congratulations!

I have not seen an official US ship date yet. NX-2000 hits US stores 4/8.

Brick and mortar stores, as well as most web stores. EE gets their inventory differently than most retailers.
