I didn't know about them until I purchased Star Trek: Alternate Realities on DVD in 2008 and saw the mail in for Timeless Geordi.

I first discovered AA toys back in 2002 when I stopped by my local Toys R Us and saw the Nemesis figures. I forget when exactly I found out about the TOS figures but I started collecting them sometime in 2005.

At a Miejers. I was walking down an row and looked up and there they were. I was shocked. How could I not have heard about them before that point!

Ah! those were the good ol days, when you'd just go to a store and see all kinds of new stuff you never knew was coming! No pre-orders or knowledge about what was coming...

I think I 1st found out about them when the TOS wave 1 came out... I wasn't collecting Star Trek Toys then... Just super hero toys Like Marvel Legends and before they came out just some 1/6 scale stuff... mostly military like G.I. Joe...

I thought the TOS wave was the 1st Star Trek Stuff that AA did. Then I went to a few TRU's, Walmarts and K-Narts and I saw all the other stuff on clearance... so I picked it up too...

I remember seeing all the ENT bridge pieces on sale except the T'Pol, and I didn't want to pay full retail so I only got the other two... that was a mistake! I didn't know at the time it was a limited release!

I found out about Art Asylum back in 05 at a Sci-Fi (I think) convention in North Carolina. One of the center's largest rooms was filled was Star Trek and a there was a booth that was selling, among other things, the AA Enterprise-A and the Enterprise NX-01 (battle damaged) replicas. I bought the E-A, Googled Art Asylum, and was shocked to find a company making Star Trek merchandise. Now I own just about every ship and Trek-Tek replica they've made.

Back when Art Asylum first picked up the license; I'd been waiting since Playmates had dropped it for someone else to pick it up and start making ships and Tek again, and was hoping for new Voyager figures. I've been collecting the AA/DST stuff ever since, and have no intention of stopping provided that DST continues producing Trek.

Not being much of a figure-man, I think I first noticed the build quality (aside from a wonky deflector) of my friend's NX-01.

It was not until I heard of the TWOK 1701, and was subsequently given one nearly 3 years ago, that my interest was truly piqued.

One day I just had a strange desire to own a copy of the original NCC-1701 Enterprise. I googled around and found out about their ships and toys. Of course, by then I had missed out on years of toying goodness, but thankfully they have reissued most ships.

Now, I still scour the internet looking for new ships or reissues. By the way, that's how I found this site!
