This is gonna sound weird but I've often thought of swapping the casts of Star Trek and Batman, partially because a few actors did both shows anyway. I'd have loved to have seen Adam West in his prime, taking on the role of James T. Kirk in the late 60's, with Burt Ward as Chekov, Eartha Kitt as Uhura, Stafford Repp as Scotty, and Burgess Meredith as McCoy.

West is leaving a lasting legacy.

This was definitely sad news when I woke up and saw it Saturday morning.

I watched a few Batman episodes when I heard the news. He seemed relatively healthy and fit for his age, still working and all.

Yeah, I know he's old but I was a little shocked. I met him about a year ago and he seemed very healthy.

Say what you will about Family Guy, but I loved Adam Wests character.

A sad time indeed. I enjoyed the Batman series as much as I did Star Trek as a kid in the 60's and 70's. Yes, it's different than Batman of the last almost 30 years but it was great for that time period. I think Adam West did a great job, will miss him.

My brother and I were gutted over this. Adam had planned a final European convention at the end of July and we were looking forward to finally meeting him.

Very sad news.
