I guess all we can do is show them how unhappy we are by voting with our wallets.

I love big Star Trek ships and DST in the only source of them for now.... When that changes, I will certainly stop buying them. Looking at you QMx.....

So my GF bought me the NX for my birthday... at the end of May... and didn't hide it, so I took it out of the shipping box and noticed the saucer lines are pretty good looking, they look quite straight. Wont know for sure until I can actually open it.. but I'm somewhat hopeful.

I guess you've got to think about what it is you're actually buying? To me DST were quite hit and miss but seemingly since the Klingon Bird of Prey the quality has vastly improved and been maintained. I got my USS Excelsior NX - 2000 and I'm quite happy with it! The sound quality is amazing and the overall look of the ship is spot on! In particular I love how this ship doesn't bleed light and feels pretty sturdy. The graphics around the side of the ship are a bit caky-wompus but all in all, for what I paid for it and for a mass produced toy, I'm happy and judged against Playmates 90's ships (which were amazing for their time) DST are doing a brilliant job producing ships and stuff that hasn't been current for many decades!

The only thing I wish DST would do is sculpt the windows and extra detail into the plastic again just so that on a ship like the Excelsior, it adds some depth to the toy.

Quality-wise, bar some build errors here and there (bits missing off my first BoP, huge gaps where the hull hadn't been stuck together properly with the Enterprise-B), the general quality of the 'new' ships is fine. I don't mind an error in the decals here and there, as long as the main dorsal saucer registry isn't insanely wonky. The only real issues seem to have been in the re-issued Art Asylum ships, so I think we're all good going forward with the new ships - Romulan Bird of Prey, Reliant (most likely), etc.

Got a second NX-2000 (The first one just had too many issues so it's being returned to BBTS) and I have to say it's pretty darn good.

Not trying to complain but my first NX had a lot of problems: It had paint scuffs in a lot of places, black light blocking paint that had made its way outside the seams and all over the exterior of the impulse area, misglued nacelle top and bottom so they were badly uneven and most noticeably a defective speaker which had really bad sound.

Almost everything has been corrected on my new NX.... Even the sensor bands are pretty darn even!!! The sound is very crisp and clear so the first one absolutely had a bad speaker....

The NX-2000 is one of my holy grail ships so I am pretty happy I was able to get a good one without too much effort.

Glad your new NX-2000 turned out to be much better than your first one, even including the sensor bands. But after the errors of your first one, it only could get better lol.

The Excelsior IMO is the most beautiful ship in the entire Federation line of ships, and will buy every version of her. And so far I have all three :)

If its bad its bad.  You should not feel the need to apologize.  If any one has a issue with you saying that it was bad then they can get over them selves.   You never shit on things just for the sake of doing so.

I actually am just finishing "tricking out" my NX-2000.... I found one of the last sets of Acreation Excelsior aztek decals before they closed shop.... I completely azteked the entire ship!!! It came out pretty cool.... I will post pics soon.

Those decals work because it's the same scale as the Ertl model right?
