More, less overt, hinting at a TNG phaser incoming.

Now this I'm into. I'm contemplating the Klingon Disruptor as well. Saw it in the store the other day and it looked really cool. Still not interested in any of the TOS/TWOK stuff...though it does look really nice. Go 24th Century Trek!

I picked up the TNG Klingon disruptor a while back and ended up selling it.  It's a massive piece but it just feels so plasticy.  (I know, I know...its a toy)

It is big. I think that can be a detraction. I honestly didn't expect it to be as large as it is.

The price has prevented me from splashing out on the disruptor... I just can't justify it. But it is very attractive to me.

Same here. I'd love one, but all the DST items seem to have gotten a lot more expensive over here, so I can't afford to get everything I want to anymore.

Can't wait for Toy Fair though. When is it being held (New York, February? Or somewhere else)?

I would be more into prop/toys if they came with a way to display them.

Absolutely agree with this, either include some kind of stand or sell one for relatively cheap.

I have 3 underground toys sonic screw drivers and I hate having them just laying on the table. It's also the main reason I haven't bought the DST Star Trek Original Series Phaser.

QMX includes a nice looking plastic stand for their phaser and it works really well and I wouldn't think it'd be super expensive to make.

Maybe we could come up with some sort of stands?  Similar to how some folks have found new stands for the ships?  I doubt DST would ever include this sort of thing as much as they are constantly trying to control costs.  (i.e. 7 of 9 loses the backdrop, Select Spock loses the Horta eggs, TOS medical tricorder and its manual hand scanner)

Roddenberry.com used to sell stands that you could assemble and paint for Communicators, Phasers and Trics... but it looks like they aren't caring them anymore.

A phaser display stand need not be anything complicated nor expensive, just a bit of plastic either in a C shape that supports the weight at the base and holds onto the phaser near the trigger, or a plastic starfleet delta where the handle of the phaser plugs into the base.

Something like that can't possibly cost much to make.

I am excited about a TNG phaser. I agree, display stands would be kind of nice.

I would most definitely buy a TNG phaser by DST, but I'm still more of a fan of the TOS-era stuff.

If they make a TNG phaser, they need to follow up pretty soon afterwards with a TNG tricorder.  I'd be fine with any of the versions.

Stands seem exactly the kind of thing a 3D printer could handle.

Here's hoping that when whatever it is finally gets shown, that DST stays true to their earlier promise of not showing anything off until it's much further down the production process.  Hopefully ridding us of the past torture of seeing a proto as soon as its finished, then having to wait a year to eighteen months for it to finally appear in stores.....

I'm the complete opposite. I'd rather be shown something as early as possible, because it builds excitement. Yes, delays are an arse, but for me, all the ships I've 'waited for' (The Enterprise E back in 2003, The D in 2009, and the Bird of Prey last year) have been worth it.

Put it this way. I'd LOVE to know that the Defiant is one of the next two coming up. I know - having been a customer of AA/DST for a long time now - that it'll take a while to reach shops, but what I hate is not knowing whether it is being made.

Yeah, count me part of the "show me now!" bandwagon.  To me, the not knowing is worse than waiting (though I'd hardly say either is torture haha)
