That old concept art doesn't really fit anything we've seen from Discovery so far, I'm not expecting to see any of those ships.

I hope I'm wrong, but judging by how the (supposedly) Klingons look, I'd say that they definitely travel in that ship/monstrosity. :(

There was some speculation on another forum I go to that these might be Hur'q era Klingons.

I hate to be negative but I must say I do not like the look of those ships and would not buy toy models of them.

These concept artists need to learn how to think functionally.  But they probably have no background in science or engineering.  Are we to take it that all of these aliens (honestly, previous Romulan/Klingon/Vulcan/etc ships have always looked way too artsy too) have such advanced technology that they can afford to make their ships into works of art as a secondary goal?

Toy fair preview, and no mention of Star Trek:

It looks like they used a pic from last years booth. Lol.
I will be surprised if we see anything new announced for Star Trek. I know they said a Borg select figure was coming next and that was months ago. I doubt we see or hear anything about it.

I still don't get why the Abrams Star Trek movies don't have a collector friendly line of figures/toys.

To be fair, anyone wanting to develop Star Trek product will probably wait to reveal until Discovery has launched. Or at least SDCC

They did a great job with the Romulan BoP and the Select Khan figure is decent. Maybe they're not selling well (or is it too soon to tell?)

i mean I got the Select figure as a birthday present and it's pretty decent, i still hate these statue type things. I mean what are they trying to be? I'd prefer they do the whole select thing but with proper articulation.

Not sure how good the RBP is but it looks decent.

I guess sales are soft but nothing out of the ordinary for a product line with nothing new or current to tie it to.

I'd be surprised if DST don't show off the Reliant and the Select Borg drone. It might not have been included in the toy fair preview list because it's not one of the lines they want to focus on over TF.

Because the movies suck and serious collectors for the most part don't care about collecting memorabilia from a movie they don't care about.

Let me fix this for you.

"In my opinion, the movies suck."

And it isn't just Kelvin Trek that isn't selling well, it's all of Trek.

You know, even though I've followed this company from the days of Art Asylum, it still makes me laugh that they haven't changed one iota on this front. A whole year to get a basic prototype ready - a shell, with no electronics and perhaps not even painted - and nope!

I don't think I've seen them say they're trying for two ships a year in a while.

I think they've given up on that.

Are the Muppets and Ghostbuster lines they are doing really more in demand than Trek product?

I wouldn't be surprised as they're newer DST licenses and also those brands have a more mainstream nerd appeal than old Trek.

I think if DST had got the Kelvin Timeline rights then we'd be seeing a larger Star Trek presence because those movies have broader appeal and are more in the public nerd consciousness. I mean a Benedict Cumberbatch Khan figure would be awesome.

I'd love to see that. These movies have broad nerd appeal too so I'd imagine a solid toy line from a well established company like DST who specialises in targeting the geek market would do well. I mean let's face it the toy lines these movies have had have sucked and appealed to the wrong market - Trek hasn't really worked with kids since TOS and TNG. these movies have appealed to 20 somethings so it boggles the mind that cbs have been so petty in prioritising old Trek merch over new Trek.

Nero, Khan & Krall, Kirk, Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Spock Prime, Scotty, Keenser, Checkov, Sulu, Admiral Pike, Marcus, a Klingon... man I'd love all of those.

Plus a DST Kelvin and Enterprise, even Vengeance would be insane. Not to mention the Franklin and refit Enterprise as well as the Enterprise A!
