It's too bad Playmates couldn't have done more 12" figures.
The ones from the new movie were superb I think.

Really? "Superb"?

I thought a few were adequate. I even bought one (Quinto Spock) when it went on clearance. But, like the other scales PM made Trek figures in, there were as many misses as hits. And not one blew me away.

I will say that, for the price, they were superior to these Dragon figures.

Will these things all be 12 inches tall, or is that just the generic scale and will they all be the correct scale hieght compared to each other? The Worf and Data figures look good, but the Picard Head just looks way off.

The uniforms look pretty good! Even have the holster at the side.
It seems to me everyone has trouble with Picard and Kirk except playmates. I always thought they did an outstanding job with their likeness.

Yeah Playmates back in the 90s did awesome woek with their Picard and Kirk likenesses , such a shame to see they went down the tubes.

So still no idea if these figures will have the correct scale height to each other?

I don't know one way or the other....but I highly, highly doubt they are scaled.

A body that size would be expensive enough to produce without changing aspects for each character.

It wouldn't necessarily be a matter of building new body parts. In fact, you're right that they're all going to almost certainly have the same body, but there are adjustable height 12" bodies. Whether or not Dragon's going t use adjustable bodies or not? who knows...

Dragon's probably going to use the bodies they have available. That said, they do have a few bodies at somewhat different heights in their arsenal. Whether they use them or not, we'll have to see. I'll pick these up, and probably an extra Picard and Data, just so that if someone decides to make some sculpts for Riker and Geordi (and if I know the 1/6 community, SOMEONE will) you can get those too.

If they made them so they are the correct hieght in relation to each other, then they may be worth picking up. spock2.gif

I suspect (but don't know for sure) that Dragon would just use their standard bodies. Which is kind of a pitty... Dragon is able to sell a Military figure with all kinds of great gear and uniforms for around the $45-$65 price point.

Yet these are retailing for $85. I afraid that this extra cost may simply be eaten up in licensing and won't add anything extra or new. The very fact that we haven't seen a bevy of cool highly detailed accessories worries me.

I couldnt tell what the Worf face looked like, but he didnt looked beefy enough to me. He did look about the right height, but that sash looks more like a watch band than his actual sash on the program. I think i would like to see Picard and Data at more angles to know how i feel about them. Where are the comm badges?

Better than I expected based on the first promo photos, but still not nearly good enough for the price point, IMO. This is a definite "pass" for me until and unless they end up in a clearance sale.

I think a lot of people will be waiting for that clearance sale!

Dragon figures article at Toy News International:
http://toynewsi.com/...12&itemid=16001

It states the series is kicking off with these three, though I do worry about them releasing the main 3 characters first. Well, the only characters the writers gave a crap about.

Dare I (once again) hope this line will deliver me the ultimate Beverly Crusher?
