With thanks to an Aussie friend I now have the Boomer/Athena 2-pack.

The blue uniform version is very nice looking. You can really see the resemblance to Grace.

Flight uniforms

Would have loved to see the female jacketless flight suit get more use, particularly for Kara & Racetrack.

Blue Duty uniforms

I really like the blue uniforms. Once again a Kara would have been nice.

Green Fatigues

There are many copies...

Yeah, really nice picts Artistix!

I've only recently got to start watching BSG, and man, its a really really great show! This is everything I like in a good sci-fi series!

So, I was picking up all the flight suite version of the characters because I just thought they were well done Action Figures, but now I really love 'em!

I have to agree that the blue duty uniforms are nice too! Kinda wish I had picked those up, but I like the flight suites quite a bit!

Goth, I may have a few loose BSG figures available if you want to flesh out your collection cheaply or in trade. I ended up with a few doubles.

In one of the latest Q&A's Chuck said they would have to see how the current 2-packs sell before making any more.

They did say they will make the most requested characters next, which would imaginably be a Rolsin/Baltar set.

Chuck answered my BSG question:
http://toynewsi.com/...68&itemid=16609

Greetings again Chuck. Just had 1 BSG question, & please feel free to ignore if it is none of my damn business! :-D You have to see how the currect 2-packs perform before planning any more, very understandable, but I was just wondering how long you usually give the items to sell before deciding if it is worth doing more or not? My real question is simply with the Boomer & Tigh sets being released a while ago now, do you feel any more confident a Roslin/Baltar set could be a reality, or is it still too soon to tell? Thanks Chuck. Good luck with your new Monsters figures. They look great!

I picked up my 2nd BSG figure today. My first was flight suit Apollo. Today, I bought "Husker" Adama on clearance at TRU for $7.49. I thought it was a good companion piece.

I'm not sure about the actor likeness, but the details on the suit and the accessories are nice.

The figure did have the weird oil coming from some joints, especially the neck, that I'd only previously encountered on the TNG Data figure, but that was easily wiped away.

Sam's pictures really make me wish I'd got a few more from this line.

Hey guys, I saw some pictures online of Gaius Baltar and Laura Roslin figures from DST, but can't find any information about them actually being released. Were these cancelled like some of DST's previously announced Star Trek figures that were also displayed without ever being released? I think that's weird since Baltar and Roslin are two of the most important characters...I'd expect them to be two of the first figures made in a BSG line. I'm trying to figure out why they would release some much more obscure characters before these ones. Maybe because Baltar and Roslin usually wore suits instead of the BSG uniforms, so they couldn't just make new head sculpts for these figures and stick them on existing bodies?

Characters like Hotdog & Kat didn't make it into the line because they were seen as more popular than Roslin & Baltar. They were cheap to make & were likely seen by DST as some extra characters the fans would appreciate released with the major players. Much like Thomas Riker, Lore, Reg Barclay, Nurse Ogawa & Jonas Quinn.

I'm sure DST hoped, liked all toy companies, that the line would last several assortments & all major players would be made. Unfortunately that was not the case.

Roslin was originally lined-up for wave 4 with Bill Adama, President Lee Adama & Admiral Cain. The set wasn't getting pre-orders so they changed it to Bill, Baltar & Cain. This set also went nowhere. Bill was eventually released in an exclusive TRU set.

Original wave 4

Altered wave 4

DST, like the fans, hoped Roslin & Baltar would make it into a 2-pack (much like Chapel & Rand) but as yet that has not been able to happen & all 3 of DST's major Sci-Fi action figure lines are on hold.

The bodies being used for Baltar & Roslin were not new. Roslin's body was largely made using Caprica Six's body with some of the jacket from the cancelled D'Anna Biers. Baltar used the President Lee Adama body, which I guess was kinda new since I don't recall seeing it on other characters.

So I don't think there is any kind of conspiracy, like soo many toys before, Roslin & Baltar simply didn't quite make it but were always intended to appear. We were actually lucky we even got Bill Adama!

Since DST is currently trying to finish a toy line from 30 years ago, I will not lose hope that they will again, one day, try & release the remaining figures for their major lines. smile.gif

One day Laura....one day.

Thanks for all the info and pics, Artistix. I've seen most of those pictures before, I just wasn't sure which of the pictured figures were cancelled and/or delayed. I'd never heard of the D'Anna figure, though. I agree, it's magnificent...I would have loved to pick that one up. I would have preferred for her to wear her leather jacket, though (like in "Sometimes a Great Notion"). Roslin looks lovely...seems like they shaved a few years off from how old she was in the series. smile.gif I find it amusing that even in action figure form, James Callis bears a resemblance to Siddig/Bashir from DS9. cool.gif
