Some interesting offerings have been created recently on shapeways.com including a model of the NCC-1701-F Most of these models are non-canon or fan made designs, making them not susceptible to Copy right laws. I have purchased a few and they have been good so far.

That's pretty cool! I'd like to see at least one in person before ordering one myself.

I've ordered a TOS-style Defiant and a Enterprise-Vulcan ship some months ago. Will take a picture for you and post it here. They are tiny, but look pretty cool. I'm gonna order an Andorian ship (the Kumari) as well.

I can post pics too. The final product's plastic is not as smooth as a model you would buy elsewhere. The strength feels like a hallmark model. That said they are pretty neat. I have a D-7 from elsewhere, a Kelvin like ship and 2 STAINLESS STEEL JJ Enterpises I made myself by finding someone's mesh of the ship online and touching up with Sketchup and submitting it.

The two ships I have are in the micro machines scale. They cost about 8$ each plus shipping.

The listed prices aren't bad at all. I think most were around $16 for some of the more complex designs like the Titan. I saw a Delta Flyer and a few other ships on there but listed as "not available". I hope they become available!

Wow, the surface detail is really impressive. Is that grain in the plastic, or a moulded-in aztec pattern on the TOS Miranda?

Judging by the grain of the picture, depth of field, and the surface on which they rest, these are about coin-sized, right? Even more impressive!

It's grain in the plastic, but it looks a lot like aztecing pattern. They are a tad bigger than coins, just like the micro machines ships.

I love Shapeways. I've only used it for add-ons for Transformers, but it's a great thing for that.

These look pretty nice, but I'm not into the micro machines size. I keep thinking I should sell the few I have, but they are pretty nice. If there were a nice, detailed, affordable Defiant in the Hot Wheels size, or thereabouts, I'd definitely consider it.
