Hey all,

Just received an e-mail from Rick saying he's got the shared exclusive Geological Tricorder. Woohoo:-

Hello all...

Late last week, we agreed to share (with EE) the 3rd Tricorder version
that DST produced/is producing (other 2 are science and medical)...this
time, it is the Geological Tricorder.

This set will have minor cosmetic differences from the other 2 (picture
coming soon) and This set will come with all new phrases:
1- Computer Working
2-Computer Standingy by
3-Computer Affirmative
4-Computer Data Received
5- Library Computer
6- Computer Accomplished
We will add to our website as soon as DST confirms ETA and pricing for
us, but I wanted to give you all a "heads up!"
Thanks,
Rick, www.newforcecomics.com

Take care,
Matty-lad

Hot Dang!

That looks cool!

I'll have to pick a couple up!

I've taken at least one of mine apart to fix the LED bleedthrough... and I recall seeing the circuit board with the Geo on it... never figured the sound bites were already there though! I'll have to do one of those customizations with a 3 way switch to give all three sounds on one.

Wow that looks awesome! Glad I skipped the medical tricorder for this! The ore samples are a nice touch but I'm wondering what the scanner will look like. huh.gif

Edit: EE page updated 4/18

"From The Editor
Classic Star Trek Geological Tricorder - Revealed!
Sunday, April 18, 2010
You've never seen this Tricorder before-- because CBS/Paramount and Diamond Select Toys just got together to finish designing it. The EE Exclusive Star Trek Original Series Geological Tricorder is inspired by the original TV series, but we never got to see the interior of this prop on screen. With limited reference, the hardworking artisans at Diamond Select finished engineering this fine piece of prop replication. Check out the nifty mineral sample tubes, all of which can be stored right inside the retooled interior. Wow! Don't miss this one!"

Entertainment Earth lies! According to EE, the GEO Tricorder includes "an exclusive removable scanner with motion effects" however DSTChuck has confirmed that there is no scanner in the recent Q&A. "DSTChuck: I am sorry there is no scanner with the Geological Tricorder." Time to update, EE.

EE is just going by the DST press release. i doubt anyone who works for EE really keeps track of the DST Q&A. In all likelihood, DST will have to issue a new release to retailers for EE to make changes.
