Stumbled onto this just now:

The Bridge playset (Star Trek 2009 movie) has been recalled in Canada because the viewscreen contains excessive amounts of barium. Perhaps even more surprising is that the article states that only 950 units were sold across Canada!

Oh wow. Barium. Might give people the urge to cleanse their colons. biggrin.gif No wonder that playset was so upsetting!

Hey guys I just had one quick question about the transporter playset.
I can't find original spock or uhura anymore so would the pad that part that comes with Nero work in place of those?

Oh crap ! (Literally!) blink.gif

I just bought one of these cheaply in Tesco!!! ohmy.gif

It's still in the box - the linky doesn't give any info anymore - what's the issue with Barium? Is it only a problem if a kid tries to eat the viewscreen? WTF is barium doing in it anyway???

Did you ever find an Original Spock and Uhura and complete your transporter set?

Paula Billingsley from Playmates sent me a Star Trek Transporter set free of charge, which i recieved today, because of my email correspondence with her about my disappointment with Playmates for canceling wave 2. It was a nice gesture , and appreciated, but somehow still doesnt makeup for missing out on those cool figures. I still want them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I imagine that giving those away is the only option next to tossing them in the dumpster! That was nice considering the shipping had to be an expense to playmates.

You are probably right about that. They dont even seem to sell at half price or lower anywhere. Taking a chance by producing less and making a better, more expensive Bridge would probably had been a better idea. Electronics and a fully furnished bridge would defininitely make this set more attractive.

One with an actual multi-level floor and walls as opposed to a cheapy playmat and having to buy all the figures from both waves, one of which was canned in order to "complete" a walless bridge, with consoles and chairs. You hear us playmates? Do it right please next chance you get!
