Okay, so I talked to someone at Burger King and I saw the advertizing poster for their Star Trek Promotion. They are offering Glasses, like drinking glasses. Kind of what Taco Bell did for Star Trek III, There are 4 Glasses total I saw Kirk and Spock for sure, I think the other two were Nero and Uhura, but I am not sure, I only got a quick glance at it.

He also told me that the promotion starts on May 4th, so the week of the movie release.

Sweet. Glass, or plastic? I'd prefer glass, myself, but something tells me they will be plastic.

Cool! I wondered if any fast food place was getting in on the act.

Did you actually see & hold one? I recall Burger Kings glasses started to be done with clear plastic (or perhaps always were), which looked like glass from afar and especially in a poster. I am referring far back in time to when I remember them doing some Disney glasses back in the mid to late 90's. I haven't followed their promotions at all in years.

Man...between all the sugary cereal I've been eating for the badges, the frozen pancakes and waffles I've been eating for the plate, and now Burger King for glasses and possibly happy meal toys... I'm going to need to go on a diet after all this hype is over...

I don't know about that, all I saw was a poster for the glasses.

For Burger King's Shrek: The Third promotion the glasses were all made of glass. That was more or less made for children. It only makes sense that a PG-13 movie would get real glass. However transparent aluminum wouldn't be bad either! LOL

OK, you guys convinced me. It's bad enough that I'm having to eat all these cereals, waffles, and cookies...but now I'm going to have to eat fast food burgers to boot... I wonder if Weight Watchers will be doing any Trek promotions??

There will be happy meal toys (or, er... the Burger King equivalent)!

This makes me very happy. When's the last time there were kid's toys like this available for a Trek movie? Was it the Motion Picture? I only remember cups for the others. I'm excited not so much to get them (though I may try) but mostly because of what this means as far as a marketing push. Maybe kids WILL be into this movie... and see it with their families... and buy lots of Playmates toys!!!

I remember that, at one point in time, you could go into BK (maybe just my local one?) and ask to buy the toy(s) without having to buy a kid's meal. That way you also eliminated randomness. Does anybody know if this is still true?

Reminds of the Star Wars SDF toys.....that I loved! I'm all over these!

Wonder if there'll be a rare one like the Vaders were....

Wow! Those look really cool! It makes me happy that these looks really fun. I hope the final toys looks as good as the little sketches. I will say that some of the pictures are confusing. For instance a Klingon ship is called a warbird and the communicator and Tricorder look like the TOS versions. Huh.
