^^^Warp Factor Ten!!!
It's amazing how fast you can type with two fingers - LOL! Although I do regret not taking up my mother's offer to teach me to touch-type, then who knows? I could have written the Dead Sea Scrolls in response to some of the posts!

I know I'm probably going to get flamed hard for this as I have at other forums but I grew up with Star Trek, Read tech manuals and dressed as a starfleet officer every Halloween I could fit into a uniform. So, All that said I actually loved the new Star Trek movie. Yes, it didnt have a lot of the morals, and lets think this through we have grown accustom to but it did go back to the cowboy diplomacy style of TOS. Yes, just like any movie it did have a lot of stuff that was kinda like well....I dont know about that. You then have to think though. The Star Trek francise was quietly dying and then this movie came out and sparked whole new interest in it even if for a short time. In that short time though people who would have never even thought of having the words Star Trek come out of there mouth are now fans. My wife was a hardcore Star Wars fan. We went to Star Trek at imax and she has now written off Star Wars and she even went and watched the other 10 movies and started on TNG. As many things as the new movie changed you to look at this way, This is the best we are gonna get and even though its not what some of you want or feel that it destroyed your childhood memories, It is Star Trek and I think we should support it. Also on a side note people were saying how the New Doctor Who was blasphemy and they would never watch it and it will fail....we see how that went lol.
Now I hope in the next movie they dont cut a lot of scenes that make sense to the story like they did in the last one. A few you posted that unless you got the countdown comics it wouldnt have made a lot of sense and youre right. I was fortunate enough to get the comics, so going into it made sense but I could understand without the back story why it would seem scattered. I hope in the next movie they dont pull that stunt. It could do without so many lens flares for sure lol. I did like a lot of the throwbacks to the original series and I loved the remark from scotty that Admiral Archer put him there after he transported his prized beagle and lost it. I also thought Karl Urbans McCoy was spot on. I do agree with some of you that I hope they do something int he next movie that isnt a I'm going to destroy Earth or etc. etc.
Btw I'm also one of those crazy people who liked Enterprise lol

There's nothing to flame you on with that post! You've pointed out all the short comings of the film, but provided your rational for why you like it!
Nothing wrong with that IMO!
It was a good movie! I don't think most members here argue that... but some of us just aren't as "fanatical" about it as we are of other trek movies or shows!

Dont worry about getting flamed here, we are not like other forums, we welcome your opinion, and as a lifelong Star Trek fan, i came to like the new movie as well.

I bought the DVD for a fiver a year ago and I've yet to sit down and watch it for a second time. I feel that time has probably come and I wonder what my impressions will be this time? How many pages of type shall I generate? LOL!
I think the best part about Star Trek 2009 was the basic understaning that a TOS movie is for nought without a "Kirk Moment", and while I thought that Pine has work to do before he gets that kirk "I'm in charge" swagger going properly, I greatly appreciated Pine being dangled over the abyss by the angry Romulan while Pine chokes out "I've got your gun!" Total Kirk magic!
