I really am starting to understand as well why a lot of the old members are not here anymore...hell the Owner doesnt even post on here. Way too much bitterness and complaining goes on here now. TBH..I wouldnt doubt FHC lets the board close after the year is up. It has become a forum to complain about everything and nitpick every little damn thing. It really is sad

I haven't been here in ages. Not a lot of Trek toys to talk about in recent years...but it seems to be booming again with Mezco, Funko & others.

That said, reading over the last few pages was painful. If I was Zach I sure as hell wouldn't bother coming back.

I'm just wondering if we really need a sub forum dedicated to DST or whether it would be best to just close this and incorporate all the new DST product into the forum that is currently sub headed "everything else"

It seems a bit redundant as regularly this forum sits idle.

There's plenty of Star Trek merch out there. Eaglemoss, QMx, Mezco, Mega Bloks...

I think on the whole this forum is a great place to come and share opinions with fellow Star Trek fans. I am sorry to everyone just wishing for a cordial place to talk about toys and Trek. For the most part I think this place is very well behaved with everyone respecting one another but personally I hope we don't see Zach here anymore.

This site is for the fans.

I say keep it open.  DST is still a major player with new product coming out.

I doubt any changes can even be done forum wise. Does anyone with those kind of privileges even come here anymore?

Instead of eliminating this forum, I'd say add other ones like it.

QMx certainly deserves one.

Eaglemoss does.

I don't think Mezco and Megablocks are quite at that point yet since they both have so few products.

I hope we don't see Zach here anymore.

This site is for the fans.

I comeleltely disagree, and you're probably in the minority's if not the only one that feels this way. I'd hate to have Zach not come here anymore.

Wow.

Bad Form 1701D!

If you really don't want to see anything Zach Posts... just use the "Ignore" feature of the Forum!

Yes... thats correct... you can add any user to you own ignore list, and you'll no longer see any posts from them!

Click the drop down on your user name, and go to manage ignore prefs, and just add Zach and you won't have to see anything he posts!

I like the fact that Zach comes and interacts with the fans. I wish more company reps would. I get that you've had a bad experience... but why should everyone be punished because of that?

Well said Gotheno! It is really nice seeing you back on the board.

I have been saying for YEARS that we dont want to scare Zach off the board...I am really surprised he didnt stopbcoming a long time ago. All you guys ever do is attack him with negativity about lack of product or all kinds of other stuff. I am really thankful he is here. If you guys would have been around in like 08 or 09 it was all positive (even with the 1701D fiasco). Zach joined and we were all so thrilled to have him, it changed the whole dynamic of the board.

Block him, it really is the best way...or Zach could even just Block 1701D too. That way it eliminates the negative vibe.

Yeah I read as a guest a lot. I figure if the members want to post a 4000 word post about the paint on a figures boot being off, I figure if they don't vent they might jump off a bridge.

It's just an opinion, I'm not calling Zach an awful little man and I'm not insulting him but there is something called acting professionally when you are representing the company you work for. Whether he comes here off his own back or not, he is still representing Diamond Select and Diamond Select's reputation.

Many fans here might think Zach has done no wrong and that he is some kind of Star Trek toy messiah. You're fine to think that if you like but don't think ill of someone who doesn't... In my books, he's not the messiah, he's just a very naughty boy.

I'd be amazed if a company PR guy was 'scared away' from posting on a forum because there's people complaining that the company he represents are not bringing out enough product. If Zach was being insulted constantly, or being harassed with personal abuse, certainly. But people complaining that his company aren't making enough new products might make him leave? WHAT?! Man, talk about trying to create drama..... <_<

This forum is hand's down the BEST resource (other than toy websites themselves) for Star Trek toy and collectibles news. It frequently shows up extremely high on specific google searches, and I often see a load of guests visiting, reading the freshly collected news no doubt. I'd be willing to bet that I'm not the only one who knows that, but I'll keep my post brief (otherwise I could easily write a bloody monster as to why this is important).

You may loathe him, you may adore him, but I think Zach knows this is the number one (no pun intended!) forum in terms of getting word about your Star Trek product out there, and I therefore think it'd be sweet if he interacted more. How? Well I don't mean answering questions from everyone, as he doesn't do that (and even when he occasionally replies, it's usually to say 'Ask DST!' or something from the latest posting of it).
I just think it'd be nice if he posted things to promote discussion here once in a while. Things like pictures/photos/renders. That's where many of the comparisons with Ben Robinson come from. Ben will share things about new ships on his twitter account all the time (and he replies to people almost daily, even though he runs several other big Eaglemoss lines, and is extremely busy with them).
Just to be really clear about what I mean, here's an example: How cool would it have been if Zach had posted that render picture of the Reliant, just before leaving for comic-con*** (or hell, it being 2016, it'd be very easy to do so from the place itself on preview night)?

***EDIT: Whatever convention it was where the Reliant was announced, not this recent comic-con.

Ben is clearly insanely passionate about his work, and I'm not saying Zach should match him in terms of interacting with people after work hours regularly (that's Ben's prerogative). But it'd be so nice to come here occasionally, and see a photo posted here of the *insert new DST Trek stuff here*, one that perhaps might be too oblique for the facebook page, or even simple things like a new angle of the Cobra Phaser, etc.

Also, regarding older members no longer visiting, I suspect that's not as true a statement as people think. I won't namedrop, but I've seen a lot of the old 'big names' pop up occasionally as visitors. I myself stopped coming here for years after first joining, and I came here from the Art Asylum forums. It wasn't anything personal, there was just no Trek stuff that interested me for a while, and oh yeah, I was into other things and getting on with my life.
None of this s**t should even matter by the way, as it really comes across as elitist - "I'm an older member than you, therefore my opinion matters more" is what it sounds like, and I'd hate any new members to feel intimidated into not posting an opinion because of what older members (like myself) would think.

Seriously considered just wiping all this for the last ten minutes, but to hell with it, there's my opinion. I don't want (nor am I looking) to make enemies of people, I'm here to share the latest news on the thing I love.

And to complain every once in a while about how the Defiant hasn't been made yet. ;)

Ok. No fair changing the polling question and then not adding all possible permutations!

I've given up on JJ-verse... not collecting it... so it doesn't matter if DST gets the license or not... but then the poll got changed to add in the new TV show... and I'm still open to it, and if I like it I'll want collectibles... I see them as two different things... different wants... they may also be different licenses.

Nicely said JAY K and what a brilliant idea. I'd love to see DST do that.

In an ideal world I'd like DST to have the licence to do old and new Star Trek from whatever series or movie out there: TOS, TNG, DS9, VGR, ENT, DSC, TMP, WOK, SFS, TVH, TFF, TUC, GEN, STFC, INS, NEM or ST09, STID, STB.

The ultimate Star Trek license out there for reasonably priced Star Trek toys for collectors and casual fans of Star Trek.

Electronic Ships, ACTION figures, role play items and minimates.
