That Equinox looks absolutely fantastic, I can't wait for these to start for the US in October.

Thanks for the pics, Jay K. :)

I'm liking both the Reliant and Equinox (wow!) but the Voyager could use some help in the paint department.

Hey all,

I received issues 2 and 3 this morning and I love them. So glad I subscribed. Just waiting on issue 1. Subscriptions are a bit weird....

Looking forward to the rest of them, especially all the ships that haven't been made before.

Take care,
Matty-lad

Just reading (project manager) Ben Robinson's comments on the EM FB site and I've gotta say I'm extremely impressed that he seems to love these little ships as much as we do and clearly wants to do a great job. Truly a Trekkie who knows his stuff.

A few titbits/tidbits:
- the Ent refit didn't get aztecing because they had issues with the paint trying to match the TMP version and one proto even turned out pink, Ent-A should have aztecing; Ent B will be different tooling from Excelsior
- they plan to do the JJ-prise, Vengeance, and Kelvin as "twice the size" specials, some specials may have separating parts but regular releases won't
- the Jem'Hadar Fighter will have the stand on the correct side of the ship unlike the early render shown

- the first 30 are the only ones that are truly confirmed (as we suspected) : the rest of the list was "off the top of (his) head and many ships that should be there aren't" ; #31 is the Hideki and #32 is the Runabout Orinoco (we don't know what #31 is but I'll bet it's the J'H Fighter as it keeps changing places with the Valdore on the confirmed list) ; probably Enterprise-era KBoP and "something from Voyager" after that
- it takes about a year from inception till they hit the shops
- subs to Canada coming soon, working out logistical issues (yay!)
- subs to Oz and Germany "hopefully before too long" (though I note email addresses for NZ and Oz in the 1st magazine)
- wants feedback re: which nacelles on the TOS Ent and if we want to see more ships from the same class with different registries (though obviously they've stated they're doing an Ent B and Ent A already)
- NX refit is unlikely due to licensing issues but not ruled out at a later time; may do Mirror Universe Ents
- models built from original Lightwave VFX files from Paramount: "we start off with 3D data but the models are actually made using conventional die-cast technology. There are limitations on die cast which mean some parts have to be made in ABS or you'd get unacceptably clunky joins"

Wow.... The Equinox looks great..... I even like the Reliant though the exterior Nacelle Grills are Blue not Dark Grey/Black.... a minor nit pick. I have to say....I hope the mainstream release of the Voyager is a bit better.... I would at least like to see the windows painted.

I, like others, have just got 2 and 3. I thought the BoP wasn't supposed to be out for another couple of weeks? And I've got to say, their fantastic! I was pleased, to say the least. And how on earth does the binder work?

Thanks

I hope they don't do this, but for those of you who want it, if they do, I at least hope they do it at the end so I can cancel and not miss any new unique toolings.  :P

Hey all,

So I pulled out the original issues 2 and 3 I got when the set was originally piloted and was surprised to discover that they are different. The Enterprise has only subtle differences, but the BoP is a completely different paint scheme. The older one is much darker. I'll post some pictures when I get my computer out.

Take care,
Matty-lad

The B is a different tooling, and I can live with the A (the collection would look stupid without it), but I too hope they don't bother with the different registries. There really would be no need for say a Yamato, or a Valiant etc, it would cause me to cancel my subscription if they dragged this part work out with ideas like this.

The only ship that comes to mind that different registries would work is the Excelsior, with the NX and NCC variants.

That looks amazing. I just love they're doing all the lesser known/famous ships, and doing them in fantastic detail and quality.

I've had a huge tent-pole for the Akira since forever!

I'm so glad they're doing it!

The Akira looks beautiful! Getting some of the cool, lesser-known designs is a huge appeal of this to me!

Funny seeing the amount of people 'calling out' the company as regards why there's no name on the ship - me thinks there's some Trekkies out there who aren't as clued-up as they may think. :)

Looking good....

And here is where I aim to put them, 3-tier risers all prepped.  What is the width of those stands?  If they are much wider than 2.5", which they kind of look like they are, then things will become precarious.

So...CAN I PLEASE HAVE SOME NOW!?  :)

Agreed, that is a fantastic case, Whirlygig, nice! The stand for the Ent-D measures 3" X 4", that's the only one I've got 'til later in the week. The stand is much nicer than I expected, it's quite weighty and flat black. Not crazy about the angle the ship flies at (tilted upwards) but that's easy to fix with a shim under the back of the stand.

Great news, Ben Robinson (EM's project manager) added some more ships to the provisional list in the last week or so, many of which will be in the first 70, apparently.

SPECIALS
Deep Space 9
Klingon warbird or D4 KBoP
USS Enterprise (alternate reality)
USS Kelvin
USS Vengeance
Space Stations

ADDITIONAL PROVISIONAL ISSUES FROM FACEBOOK SITE
Antares type (TOS-R, TAS)
Borg Tactical Cube
Borg Type 03
Centaur-type
D7-class
D'Kyr type
Jem'Hadar battleship
Laneth's starship
Negh'Var class
Romulan science vessel
SS Botany Bay
USS Rhode Island
USS Voyager ("Endgame" ablative armor)

Ooh, a decent-sized model of the Kelvin for not-expensive is yes.

EDIT:

Yet more from The Trek Collective - and that article is well worth a read, both for context for the following images, and for a reassuring synopsis of the incredibly detail-savvy and careful discussions going on between Eaglemoss and fans on Facebook.

Really, I'm pumped that the staff behind the magazine are clearly putting blood, sweat, and tears into getting these models right

Right, fanboy worship over, pictures:

Intriguing disparity here between what looks to be a model based off a late-season-7 CG Defiant, and cover photo depicting the "Sacrafice Of Angels" era Defiant with the wonky nose:

Oddly, this seems to be a photo of one of the (I hope) rejected paint-options covered a few days ago:
Eaglemoss+Star+Trek+The+Official+Starshi

An indication of how the distribution of the "specials" will work... I'm still confused - how will the news agents have room for these large boxes on their magazine stands!?
