This thing is about to look a whole lot less like a giant water pistol

Now to do the other set.

Here's a shot of them together. The parts are not painted it just happens that I used two different color primers and they happened to be close to what it should like.

The butt pieces are now cleaned up and ready for primer.

I figured out what was causing my paint problems and since then I have been able to move on. Live and learn. I was using a new paint brush to knock off all the tiny pieces of steel wool. That brush must have had something on it. once I figured it out I was like duh or course it would. After one more sanding I resprayed everthing one more time. I must say the Gray on these bodies may be too shiny now!!

I got the stocks painted and the polls that run out to them as well.

After they dried I put one of the Rifles together

Then I did the other one

Now it's just a matter of getting the little pieces attached. Won't be long now!

I got to work on this some today and I believe that I am going to finish one and then finish the other due to all the small pieces.

If I can, for bigger pieces, I like to remove some of the paint so that I get a resin to resin bond

Some parts on

Some more parts on.

It sure can be tough to wait for the JB Weld to dry so I can work on the other side.

Hey are you going to be painting the purple and orange bits, or leave them like that, The pattern doesnt quite match what I would expect it to be, perhaps some adjustment is required.
Just kidding, nice job. It looks amazing, well after the clips are taken off... biggrin.gif

Thats a really nice looking rifle. It looks much cooler than the WNMHGB phaser rifle that Kirk had. I wish i had a real one of those instead of the Ruger .223 caliber Mini-14 rifle i carry on occasion at my job.
