I know it's not Worf, but I got my Picard figure today. My first DST figure, very pleased with it. There's a couple minor paint issues, but I still think it's fantastic. Will probably get Worf at some point.

Did I miss if there was an answer about the missing robe/sash? I'll be honest, differences like that are what attract me more to yet another Star Trek line (not to mention that's how I'd have displayed mine ;) ).

Sorry I missed this -- yes, the robe was not included past the first round of concept art. Sorry.

And nice setup, Alteran, glad you like Picard.

And thanks for the shots, Locutus!

Got Star Trek Select Worf (and Picard!) today.

This is one GREAT piece. I was one of those people who was a bit skeptical at the whole affair, to be honest. I do like my action figures with articulation. But Spock and Kirk really opened my eyes to how cool these could be, with interchangeable parts and more naturalistic poses AND incredibly cool bases. Kirk was basically two figures in one!

So, Picard seemed like a rude awakening. That's why I've put off getting him this long. If a friend of mine hadn't gotten him so I could see him in real life, and Worf hadn't turned out so cool, I'm not 100% sure I'd have gotten him. But, I think part of this is DST experimenting with what works best with the series. We know that Kirk and Spock were kind of one-offs with a lot of added value to launch the line. That disappointed me at the time, but I understand it. K&S would probably be $40 toys easy right now. But whereas Picard (while a lovely sculpt) seemed to sacrifice too much on the main piece for an elaborate base, Worf has the plainest base yet but is a better piece over all for it, in my view.

The sheer variety of poses and stuff for Worf is so cool! I don't miss the robes at all. All the arms, weapons, and the two heads provides a ton of cool posing options. My pics aren't the best, I was just playing with poses. My only small gripe is that I wish the plastic stairs had a channel to insert the cardboard backing. It doesn't, so it feels a bit like we were just given a piece of cardboard to prop up or lay around rather than a fully integrated base. It's not a huge deal, but it does make it feel less special. That being said. I'd much rather have the money go into pose/accessory options rather than a base.

I do like the Picard piece. Even with the added articulation there isn't a lot of poses he can achieve (phaser aimed up, phaser aimed down) but I'm excited to hear the K&S hands work with him. That's a nice touch and could open up some possibilities. The Borg base does look great, though.

So, anyway.... I hope more are announced soon! It'd be nice if we could get at least one more this year, and try to work up to getting 3/year at least.

Are the Picard and Worf legs interchangeable?

LoT's side by side are great and they show the dynamic range of the Select pieces over the previous action figure nicely.

That being said, I think they also confirm to me that the sculpt is a bit soft. The old Worfs lines are so crisp next to the Select. Its nice... but it just doesn't look as sharp.

Mine has been delivered. When I get home I will get some pics. I really want to see if the legs are interchangeable between him and Picard as well.

I got mine. Overall it's a nice figure and I'm not disappointed that I got it. I do have a few nitpicks but the only thing that really bothers me is that the legs are not interchangeable with Picards. I thought one of the big selling points of the select line was interchangable parts. Kirk and Spock have legs that can be changed but not Worf and Picard. That's very disappointing.

Nope. It's because they made the peg that fits into worfs torso about three times bigger than the rest of the figures they have made.

All in all I would say that Worf is the best of the Select line thus far. While he has things about him that I dont like he has a lot that I do.

Pros:

Multiple arms and accessories for a better array of display options.

Sculpt is good and comes with two heads.

Paint is solid and not sloppy

Solid figure that doesnt feel like it will break

Can stand on his own without the display stand

Cons

Can not swap parts with other figures from the select line

Display stand is plain and the cardboard backdrop/floor does not connect to it at all.

Paint: the lack of any type of wash over the face and baldric leaves the details looking a bit soft.

I think the that DST are moving in the right direction with the evolution of the Star Trek Select line but aren't quite there yet. The extra arms and hands are a great way to go instead of standard articulation. It really adds an extra layer of posing option that Picard just doesn't have. Not being able to swap parts with other figures is annoying and something I hope that DST fixes going forward or if not then adds a few extra parts to each figure for more options. A second set of legs would be great. The display stand and cardboard backdrop for Worf really detracts from the overall figure.

I would give it a solid 8 out of 10

For comparison here is what I would rate the other three selects.

Kirk 4 out of 10

Spock 6 out of 10

Picard 3 out of 10

I would think Worf's legs would be too muscular on Picard's thin body. He would look like an Olympic Speedskater.
And Picard's legs on Worf would look even more "wrong"

Why did Kirk and Spock get such a low score compared to Worf? Two sets of legs, interchangeable hands on fuly articulated arms, detailed diorama backdrop, second figure, alt head for Spock... Seems like they hit all of your Worf points and more, especially considering they CAN swap parts.

And yeah, Worf and Picard do not share a body type.

Hey Zach ,

In hindsight Spock should be higher up. He is on a closer level with Worf and a very solid figure. Probably a solid 7 out of 10. Kirk However only had one set of useful legs. The jumping through the air legs in my opinion were pretty useless and something that just didnt look good or work that well. He also only had the one screaming head instead of the two that was originally planned and that one doesn't have a great likeness to Shatner. The hunched over body also took away from the ability to get a lot of useful poses. The diorama piece is the saving grace for that one.At least for me. I picked up the TRU version and was more happy about getting the rock stand to use with other figures than the Kirk figure. With that being said if you get an extra Spock and use his legs with Kirk it drastically improves the figure just by being able to have him stand up a little straighter or crouch on the one knee. So using other parts would bring it up 6 out of 10. I just wish I didn't have to to buy another Spock to get it there. But I did anyway. LOL.  Please don't get me wrong here. I like the figures and think they are moving along in the right direction. I just think there have been some "odd" choices in the evolution of them. If DST hadn't set the bar so high with past figures I would probably be in love with this line but right now I just like it. I think Worf was a great step forward and am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Agreed on all counts about Select Kirk.
What makes that figure essential is the Engineering console.

I use it to display my Scotty

I kinda wish I'd picked up Kirk just for the Diorama.

Zach, Any idea if DST will do another run of Kirk and Spock? They seemed to sell through pretty good.
