Playset question

22 December 2014 - 09:48 AM

Question regarding the last Playmates Bridge playset from the movie line.
Does anyone know if anyone has posted graphics from the console pieces, particularly the 2 consoles in the back that were not released?

What could have been...

17 June 2014 - 02:03 PM

So, thinking as a customizer who just stocked up on casting supplies, I was looking at my small Megos and I started thinking about the possibilities. It occured to me that Mego could have done a lot more just with what they already had, so here is what I came up with:

Arcturian head on Crew male body.

Betelgeusian head on Crew male and female body.

Megarite head on Crew male and female body.

Zaranite head on Crew male and female body.

Saurian* head on Betelgeusian or Megarite body for a civilian version.

* What they mistakenly called a Rigellian.

So that is 8 new possibilities right there, all with then existing molds.

Think I may have some fun with this...

Adventure Planet

26 March 2014 - 01:48 AM

Here is the Adventure Planet Space Adventure box set I picked up today at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It isn't Trek but it is space related so I thought I would share.

It has 15 pieces, including the helmet and backpack for the Astronaut. The Astronaut is 11 PoA with simple hinge joints for the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. He stands 3.75 inches tall and is sculpted to look like a real NASA astronaut, not a Hollywood astronaut like GIJoe or Alien. The helmet rotates to lock in place and has a flip down visor. The paint app is less than perfect, with the tips on the fingers not being painted, at least on this one.

There is a mini rover. It has 4 PoA and the tracks seem like they are supposed to move, but are very stiff. There is a survey tripod with 2 PoA. and several hand held tools, which do not stay in the hands very well.

The set retails for $9.95. I do not think that is a bad value at all for what you get. The back of the box also shows 3 more sets which I have not seen and will have to inquire about, especially the one with the Lunar Rover.
