With all the previous and current Kirk releases we have seen, I am amazed at how many colors our good captain wore during his original series run. There is the WNMHGB yellow, regular series run yellow, and his green alternative. But as many of you already have discovered, there are many more shades.

I received the reissue yellow shirt Kirk from toysrus today to find another shade of yellow. Bellow are some shots of the reissue as well as comparison shots with command chair Kirk, as well as with yellow shirt Sulu. The reissue while a different color is a better paint job then my previous releases, so the only thing the bugs me is the fact I STILL don't have all the yellow uniforms the same color for my main TOS crew.

Don't like the colour at all. Looks as though it's faded.

The reissue looks definitely faded. And the cmd chair version is Way to bright under regular lighting. Not the best of luck with these so far. I'd be curious to see if anyone else has even more shades.

Well that sucks, I was hoping it would match. It's basically a mustard instead of gold. So, is the best one to get the comic con Kirk?

Looks like Comic Con Kirk - allthough being old - seems the best so far, when it comes to the uniform color...

I got 2 Comic Con Kirk figures, and used one of them in the Captains Chair in place of the Kirk figure that came with it. The other I placed back into it's box since I got one of the reissues with the better painted head to put in it's place. spock2.gif

I use a Comic Con Kirk in my captain's chair, too, since it doesn't have the issue with the misplaced delta shield.

I'm looking at my Captain Kirk figure that came with the chair and his Delta Shield placement looks fine to me .

Upon looking at Thomas' Kirk Comparison shots , I take my last statement back . The Kirk with the mustard colored shirt has a more accurate delta shield placement than my yellow shirt kirk with the delta shield up on his collar bone , but hey I still like him anyways ! LOL! music-smiley-026.gif

Kirk's Delta shield is too high up on the Command Chair Version. On the Comic Con Boxed release Gold Shirt eddition it's more accurate. I too use the Comic Con Version for my Captains Chair.

I don't mind the mustard color at all. It's the fact that the torso is a completely different color than the arms that irks me. Hopefully that's just the photo...

The photo seems to make it look like the materials on the torso and arms are very different colors, and when you look at it with your eyes you cannot tell. Colors aside the paint job is alot better then the cmd chair Kirk version.

The true color IMO opinion they should be shooting for is number 13 Tenne. If I was to get Kirk, Sulu and Chekov all in that color tunic with delta's in the right place, and hopefully in solid plastic with a swivel waist, my TOS dreams would be complete!!!! spock2.gif spock2.gif

Actually I think the Mustard re release is more like what it is supposed to look like, because I was watching the episode "The Changeling" last night and his shirt was mustard.

Just got the Amok Time 2 pack and the Kirk figure is very solid. The yellow is a little darker like the Re-issue Kirk, but the fact they did not use the rubber makes it look so much better. It's a great Kirk and the color is growing on me. The 2pack in general adds even more of a classic look to the collection.
