USS Voyager, MIB, went for $186.00 + $16.14 shipping after 21 bids.

We're getting into record territory here, as this was $200 at the door. In 2018.

Man, someone really wanted this for the holidays back in 1996 -- that's all I can say. Hopefully the batteries haven't rotted inside.

USS Defiant, loose, went for $56.00 + $10.15 shipping after 8 bids.

This is about the going rate for these at the moment. (I should have bid on it -- I dunno why I still don't have one).

TNG Bridge playset, MIOB, brought $70.00 + $26.85 after 24 bids.

That's a ton of dough for a boxed bridge whose box has been opened but is complete and unassembled. Is this the upcoming Picard series sending people into a frenzy on the eBays? Could be. Cause this was a hundred bucks at the door.

Surely, there are less expensive paths to bridge playset ownership.

USS Voyager, loose, went for $61.00 + $9.45 shipping after 18 bids.

This was a bit of a bargain in this day and age when a boxed example can easily go for $200 at the door. Back in the day I didn't get the impression that these were underproduced in any way -- I bought one back when they were new -- but this current trend is properly weird.

And why Voyager of all ships?

TNG tricorder, MIB, went for $45.00 + $9.30 shipping after 7 bids.

This is pretty good money for something that was made in obscene numbers and probably has batteries inside that have gotten moldy and are leaking, destroying the plastic housing of the tricorder along with them.

In terms of realism and functionality, the tricorder was a home run for Playmates and it's a cool item to have even if you're not obsessive about trek collectibles in general. These were getting pricey in the mid 1990s already.

USS Defiant, loose but working, no stand, no stickers, went for $49.99 + $19.05 shipping.

This is a bit steep, all things considered, but perhaps realistic at the moment if you want a loose Defiant with no stand or stickers. This is proving to be a very hot item in box or out of the box.

The Runabout, MIB, just went for in June 2019 for $36.52 + $14.92 shipping after 10 bids.

These can still be found a little cheaper than this, but I can't say this is a bad price for an MIB Runabout. This is a lot of toy for they money.

Borg Sphere just went for $26.00 + $12.38 shipping after 13 bids.

These were ignored for a long time because this was kind of a boring toy at the time, it seemed, but now it's kind of to scale with the Eaglemoss ships. And there are tons of these out there -- Playmates was once again forced to overproduce this item, while ignoring the Borg Cube from First Contact.

These can still be found for the price of a Big Mac every now and then, but I kind of have to wonder who wants to pay this much for one in the box, you know? Is this for one of those unboxing videos?

This is kind of a record in recent memory when it comes to this item -- I certainly don't remember these going for more than this. The TNG Borg Cube at times brings this much and more, but not the sphere, which was roundly ignored at retail in the 90s.

Enterprise-E in Insurrection box, MIB, went for $50.00 + $36.30 shipping after 1 deluded bid.

First of all: holy shipping Batman! Second of all, who needs this thing that bad? This is -- and I cannot stress this enough -- $86.30 at the door.

To be fair these can bring wild prices at times, but given the availability of the DST version I'm not sure what people see in these, especially in a boxed item. Is this for more unboxing videos on Youtube?

Vor'cha ship loose, no box, lights working, went for $30.00 plus free shipping after 13 bids.

Whoa, guise, are we gonna see a flood of Vor'chas on eBay now! I'm gonna blame the Picard trailer for some of these bidding wars over very common stuff.

USS Voyager, MIB, recently brought $143.50 + $11.95 shipping after 13 bids.

It's pretty surprising how much Voyager still brings, whether in box or out, given the general fan in interest in the show at the moment. This is a bunch of dough these days.

Did Playmates just wildly underproduce Voyager?

USS Voyager, loose but with stand, brought $90.00 plus $12.60 shipping after 14 pinot grigio-fueled bids.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that my purchase of the Voyager back in 1995 in a Fred Meyer store was my single best store find back in the day, even though they did not seem scarce. They did seem to not be around on shelves for a long time. Because it takes like a hundred bucks these days to secure and out-of-the-box Voyager in 2019.

But at the same time, what the hell was the production run of these? Was it just that small? I need to start paying attention to the collector numbers on the boxes of the ones I see for sale. Because apparently the demand was greater, and continues to be gangbusters.

Borg Cube, MIB, recently sold for $42.00 + $22.05 shipping after 2 bids. Collector number 030593

Strong result, as these can be gotten for less at times, but dang, that's $65.00 at the door. I myself still don't have one of these, I have to admit.

Tricorder, International Edition, sold for $64.01 out of Germany after 22 bids. 22 bids!

Yes, there's an International Edition, and it's got English and French text.

USS Voyager, loose, no stand, stickers applied, went for $182.50 + $15.99 shipping after 18 bids.

That's a lot of bids and that's a lot of money. Why all the interest in Voyager for the past decade -- the series hasn't exactly grown in popularity?

This retailer catalog from 1996 generated a pretty epic sum on eBay recently, much more than I expected: $179.10 + $5.27 after 22 bids.

There's certainly a collectible value there, but I don't think this was a Star Trek audience per se, because the images within have already been seen elsewhere. It's a neat item, but that's a bunch of dough to throw at it.

USS Defiant, MIB, went for $81.00 + $19.05 shipping after 10 bids.

$100 plus change at the door. This is strong money, but not unheard of. Probably for some unboxing video on Youtube that will get half a million views and the Defiant will pay for itself.

Borg Sphere, MIB, went for $19.50 + $9.70 shipping after 4 bids.

This is slightly strong, but fair all around. Adjusted for inflation, minus shipping, this was sold at a slight loss to the seller. But there has always been an oversupply of these.

I think there were a bunch of ways to make this item more exciting, like having it in a blister pack with like a dozen Micro Machine-sized ships, because the box art was a little too dark and monochrome.  This was essentially a ball that Pmates wanted some major dough for, at the expense of making the Cube, which may have been a far better seller with a smaller sphere that could deploy from it. Both would have hogged shelf space like crazy, so I can see why Pmates didn't make a Cube from FC.

USS Defiant, loose with stand, recently brought $61.00 + $8.22 shipping after 19 bids.

This is about the market price at the moment for a loose Defiant, which is always in demand, and props to the seller for keeping the shipping price low and not gouging people on shipping. Right now, this is a very good price for a Defiant whether it has scratches or not, or whether it comes with that circular plug, many of which are missing.

Well bought, because you don't really see them dip below $50.00 in any condition. The buyer got a good deal here.

Shuttlecraft Goddard, MIB, sold for $13.50 + $10.13 shipping after 3 bids.

That's right, a new in box shuttle went for less than $24 at the door, and that's with very generous shipping too. That's less expensive than the Eaglemoss shuttle of the same design.

This is easily one of the best steals I've seen in a year when it comes to vehicles.
