I just watched the 2nd short, Calypso.  I liked it more than the 1st. Great story, beautifully shot. it flowed nicely. It kinda had more of a twilight zone feel because you really didn't have a crew, but if your a ship fan, you got some really great shots of the ship... and a bit of an introduction as to how a ships AI may evolve.

Next month looks to focus on Kelpiens... maybe it'll be a cooking show and they'll teach us what to look for in a Kelpien :roflmao:

The 3rd short features Saru... and these are getting better IMO. This one gave some nice backstory to him and a bit more!

Can someone tell me in Q&A why they didn't just beam them out?

I mean...  I don't remember hearing an explanation for that.  If they were going to write such contrived plotting in TNG they'd at least cover their bases with some quick technobabble.

And as far as the Tribble one...I dunno...seems a bit cavalier with ethics, that Starfleet...

But I guess that's where we're at now with the franchise.  Star Trek needs to be cutesy to a fault like everything else?

I haven't seen the shorts... but I was listening to a pod cast review of the one with the tribbles... basically it it sounds like they wrote the characters to be mean and petty... which was very un-trek like. Sounds like they didn't have issue with cute and funny... but they kept coming back to poor Trek writing... meaning they don't get the ethics and morals that the Franchise was built on.
