Star Trek is fragmented as a franchise. Likewise its consumer base is fragmented making it difficult to cater to. It's pretty rare to find fans like myself who like ALL the series and films and are willing to buy product from every one of them.

Eaglemoss has it relatively easy. They're sticking to one thing, spaceships, and they're covering all eras. That's a lot harder to do when you've got multiple categories ranging from action figures and banks to electronic ships and role play.

True, but they release 24 regular issues, a handful of specials / bonus issues, a shuttlecraft set, and a couple of XLs per year.  Plus replica dedication plaques, and comic book TPB volumes.

Even if they scaled that back to 1 ship, 1 figurine, 1 TPB, 1 plaque, and 1 each of up to 24 other hypothetical product categories per year....they'd still be blazing past DST at warp 9.9...

Eaglemoss could release one ship a year and be blazing past DST at warp 9.9.

I assume Kickstarter.

If they show the Reliant and Borg select, I won't hate them as much as I usually do, but I'm not even expecting that.

What would they produce that would require a Kickstarter a la Jabba's sail barge?  Or will they just use it to be like 100,000 preorders of this and it will get made...

People are familiar with what I mean by Kickstarter Jabba's sail barge, right?

So I asked DST if there was anything Star Trek being shown and got a no.... there's a shock.

I'm normally a positive person but all this no show is getting on my nerves.

I’m not surprised and I posted that on their FB post. 2 years of this we’ll show you something at the next show BS is beyond BS already. Just say it DST you’re done with Trek already.

They could have a hundred things in development but if you dont show anything nobody cares. Out of sight out of mind. You cant tell me nothing is ready to show. The Reliant had a prototype at the 2017 toy fair. What happened to that???

Im not entirely sure what Diamond Selects plan is here. Are they holding off showing anything because of licensing issues or finalising a deal or are they genuinely not sure they are going to do anymore Star Trek product? Are they looking at Kickstarter as a way to get this stuff to the people who want it? (Personally I think Kickstarter is a crazy stupid idea) or are they waiting for The Toys That Made Us to air on Netflix? Were bound to get a hefty segment about DSTs Star Trek line which could reveal the future of it too...

I dont think theyre done with Star Trek though, I think things are happening, its just that theyre either unable to respond or unwilling to show anything due to not being ready to show anything.
