They really just need to go with sculpted. Rooted hair is hard to do even by the veterans of this hobby.

I also prefer sculpted hair. Its very rare I see a figure with rooted hair that I actually like.

I like rooted hair when its done right. Of course... I like my G.I. Joes with life like "Flocked" hair too!

But I'm practical... it needs to be the right tool for the job.

Examples of rooted hair done right include pretty much any Hot toy entry... Black Widow and Cat Woman are very nice. I also prefer my POTA Nova to be rooted... actually... I guess I think it shines when used on Women... but if its something pretty complex, the sculpted seems the better way to go.

I kinda think the Kahn works because its supposed to be wild.. but I would agree that Georiou's style is sufficiently complex that it needs to be sculpted.,

It amazes me that still DST makes these Enterprise-C ships instead of something like say, USS Voyager....

I understand how you feel (replace Voyager with the Defiant for me), but with this they've completed the Enterprise line-up, which is going to please a lot of people seeing as they'd made every other Enterprise.

If the next 'old trek' Federation ships aren't the Defiant and Voyager, well then that's going to be really odd.

EDIT: After the Reliant as well of course. That and the Enterprise-C get a pass (Khan's ship and the final Enterprise). :)

The C will be a big sell simply because it completes the line.

After it and Reliant Im sure well get an alien ship, then hopefully Defiant or Voyager.

Or the Kelvin Enterprise.

I didn't see some of these pics on other sites.

QMx showed off Mini Master Worf, the Beyond Phaser, and Discovery Phaser:

Really looking forward to the two phasers and Worf.

Im cool with EC and the Reliant because they're 2 ships playmates never did.  That being said I do hope the next ones down the line are Defiant and Voyager.

Interesting to see Qmx through its hat in the ring w/DISCO phaser... though I think $60 for a static prop is a bit pricy... plus I got rid of both my Qmx Kelvin Phasers... they had production quality issues, and just were that fun IMO. I'm still hoping McFarlane can find a way to release it.

I imagine the price is going to be because of the build materials.

The Kelvin Phasers are metal and polystone, and feel very high quality to me. More like proper prop replicas than toys. I’m curious what issues you had with them? Mine is seemingly perfect, and since I just display it the lack of electronics doesn’t matter much to me.

Discovery’s phaser would probably be fairly similar build quality wise.

I’d love the McFarlane one, but I’d definitely take QMx as an alternative.

Ah, that's a shame. I just took mine out to look at to see if it had any issues I may not have noticed, I don't think it does.

It may sound stupid, but one of the biggest reasons I like QMx phasers is because they always seem to include a stand with their stuff. Most of the phaser designs need something to help hold them up, I dont personally like just having them laying on their sides for display purposes.

What I'd kill for is for The Wand Company to do a DISCO Phaser, or any Phaser for that matter. Their TOS one is just amazing.

Very happy to see DST Nu Trek Select figures!

The QMX line looks like it's really getting somewhere. However....the lack of women is worrying.

Yep. I have that one... though as a remote mine doesn't seem to work very well :-(

True in general... Janeway has gotten no love from AA/DST which is a real shame... only Captain not to be done by AA/DST :-(

Ok... technically.. yes...  But I was talking about any action figures that would match the AA or DST 7/8" scale ;-)  My bad for not specifying that!

I understood what you meant. And as long as MisterPL's post was sarcasm (and not serious), then it's hilarious.

Off-Topic; though I'm not really fond of them, I can at least see the appeal of funko-pops. But minimantes? Bah. Minimates must be the most ugly toys I've ever seen.

I absolutely took it that way! and it is hilarious... my initial reaction was more like "Ghaaaaaa dang it!!! Foiled again!!!!"

Well played by all!

I should have captioned it, "Too little, too late?"

I used to agree. Never saw the appeal of block figures at all. Then I made the mistake of playing with Minimates, their superior articulation and easily swappable parts.

2,846 Minimates later...

They couldn't sell 200 pieces at SDCC? I wonder if they're saving any for NYCC. The price seems pretty steep for a ship with no electronics.

Maybe they should do another run with the emblem "etched" into the hull instead of being full color.
