Corrections:There is no "DST sticker" on the box bottom; there's a DST logo
printed on the box bottom, and a
Newforce Sticker on the window portion of the packaging. I just double-checked one of these boxes to be sure.
This should either be listed as "Blue-grey Body/
Gold Handle, 40th Anniversary Packaging" or...
- Communicator/Phaser 2-Pack (Gold Handle/Gold Antenna, EE Exclusive, 9 Phrases)
this should be listed as "
Light Bronze Handle/Gold Antenna, EE Exclusive, 9 Phrases." Either way, the listing should match since the Phasers are 100% identical. I don't have a separate EE Communicator to compare to the 2-Pack variant to see if both have the "gloss black body," nor do I have the standard "bronze antenna" communicator, at least not yet.
New Items/Additions to the List:Original Series- Medical Tricorder (Exclusive?)
- Science Tricorder
- Geological Tricorder (Exclusive? Is this one even out yet?)
The Motion Picture- Type II Phaser (EE Exclusive?)
The Wrath of KhanOriginal Series- NCC-1701 (HD Version, "Unified Packaging")
- NCC-1701 (I.S.S. Mirror Universe Version, "Unified Packaging)
The Next Generation- NCC-1701-D (Unified Packaging)
- NCC-1701-D ("All Good Things..." Variant, Unified Packaging)
I'm admittedly the wrong person to ask about which figures are currently out; every one I've had my eye on has been canceled, and I'm admittedly more of a Tek/Ships guy myself. The "Unified Packaging" refers to the packaging that was adopted for all Trek merchandise around the time of Trek XI, which features the same general design regardless of what company manufacturers the actual item. I believe that some TWOK merchandise, such as the phaser, may also include this type of packaging. The Tricorder listings should probably be more detailed, and someone should see if the Geological one has been released or if DST is still tooling it. I want to say that it was/is/will be an exclusive, but I'm not sure. (If it's out, I'm going to have to purchase it in a couple of months for my brithday.)
One item that I left off of this list was the NCC-1701 Refit that was reissued last year/earlier this year. The packing is
nearly identical to the original run, and even contains the same UPC code. The
only difference that I could see, is that the UPC code was now written with a serif font, rather than a sans-serif font. Likewise, the ship itself has marginal improvements made to the "light-bleed" problem, but many collectors may not notice the aforementioned improvements, which makes me hesitant to consider this a "new" release, or even a "variation" of the previous one. I hope my updates to the list are useful and can be worked into the aforementioned list in a way that's helpful to everyone.
Finally, would it be possible to create a PDF version of the list at the top of this page that TrekToy members could download and print out to keep track of their collection's with? I could see such a "printable version" as being incredibly useful to many collectors here, and just wanted to offer this idea as a suggestion.
