Real simple kit here, something I can fool around with during the week. Like last weeks ST V phaser I posted about, this came from my friend to the great white north Eric. Mostly painted at this point. The image makes the buttons look like the wrong colors, but they are a sandstone color at top and aluminum for the bottom one. I need to slick it up and clear coat it after the nozzle gets attached. I'm going to try a different type of clear on this one. It will either look great, or melt the paint off. Stay tuned smile.gif

That's what I was thinking, but couldn't quite tell.

Looks really nice! What type of black paint did you use (gloss, semigloss etc.)? I was repainting my PM phaser and I made a mistake and accidentally painted some of the black.

The body is Dupli=Color Pewter the black is gloss on the area around the buttons (Dupli=Color Gloss Black) and flat black on the nozzle. The nozzle should have been gloss as well but I ran out. The clear I just put on is a high gloss automotive spray clear that should make the nozzle shine like was gloss anyway. Here is a rough photo of it hanging on the nail I placed it on to be able to spray it. I'll get better ones as soon as the clear coat dries

Here are some, somewhat, better photos of it finished. I tried a new type of clear coat and I think that it looks great. I may have to use it from now on.

That was the very first prop I ever built. They will make a nice set though don't you think?

Very nice.

You could get a boomerang phaser as well and a grey shouldered movie uniform too since the rifle was also used on DS9.

Oh I do have a Gold TNG top let me see if I can find a photo of it.

EDIT

OK here it is. It was a different fund at the local library. The only other time I have ever dressed up for anything, and of course someone had to get a photo. This was close to 2 years ago.

I can't stand the TNG era cobra head phaser. I have the laser pointer version, and I have to say that this thing is a beast to aim and shoot with. I imagine that the FC phaser and all of its successors are the ideal phaser of this particular design. The grip is alot more aim friendly.

yeah I would agree they would be rough to try and aim.
