I completed the first mold for the chair. I started with the stand since if anything went wrong with the sealer I was using I didn't want to damage the larger piece. This was my first attempt at a two part mold and fortunately it seems to have worked out well. I have added a hexagonal peg to the bottom. This is where the resin is poured in anyways and down the road I can decide if I want to use the peg or not as it can just be cut off.

Here is the mold with a casting.

Now with flashing and air vents removed as well as trimmed down to peg.

Wow! Absolutely amazing. Would you be willing to share the cost? This would be a perfect way to fabricate that TMP era Helm/Nav station we discussed, and in multiple scales...

The last two pieces are almost ready. After LOTS of sanding and sealing over and over they look smooth and shiny now.

I should be able to start the mold making part sometime tonight!

The molds for the chairs are now complete. The first castings had some issues but after working with them a little I figured out how they need to be poured. Even though the first casting had some issues I went ahead and assembled and painted it just to see how it looks and how the pieces fit. I need to use a lighter blue, but everything seemed to fit well. The rest should look better than this but I wanted to show the finished prototype.

It's been a while since I put any work in on this project. Now that I have reclaimed my workspace I'm going to be making some more progress, all be it probably a little slower than before. After looking through everything I think I will be making a new mold for the chairs and I don't think I will eventually use the castings I made so far. In order to recoup some of the cost of a new mold and to give some of you a preview of what these will eventually look like I am working on getting these to a somewhat presentable state and I will offer them for sale $15 shipped in US (International may vary). These are still pretty rough but with an action figure sitting in them they don't look too bad. If anyone is interested just send me a PM. I have 3 so far, but may have a few more later see below.

That is my ultimate plan. Once I get the helm completed I want to build the surrounding bridge modules. The design of this bridge will enable me to mold one piece that will be interchangeable for each of the stations.

i was going to mold the walls for the Defiant but it was going to be way too much money for all that rubber & res.
