Greetings All,
I suspect that the USS protostar will likely be the next ship that Playmates rolls out as they have a full wave of Prodigy characters set to debut this fall as well. Paramount is hot to get the kiddos interested in Star Trek, so I think there will be a big focus on the Prodigy toyline since its the entry level media for the brand.
For me personally, Id love to see the SNW Enterprise and figures from that show. And as much as I adore the old Art Asylum Enterprise figures, I hope that Archer and Co get produced in the new Universe line.
Honestly, the best part about the launch of the new toyline is being interested and excited for new stuff to come.
Regards,
OAD

Greetings All,
I have two targets within five miles from me and one Walmart. Of the three, I saw two wrath of khan figures and two discovery figures at one of the targets about 3 weeks ago. Hopefully, they are just being slow one putting out product. Though we may be due for a significant toy aisle reset soon for the holiday season.
Then again, stores may be hesitant to order a lot of stock after the performance of the 2009 line at retail.
If and when more shows up, Ill report here. But to be honest, I have had the most success with obtaining the majority of the initial offerings via the dreaded Amazon. Phaser included.

Alteran,
I voted the same way. I am very fond of the SNW Enterprise, but my heart will always be with the refit

Hey All,
Ive had the Enterprise for a couple of days now, and ultimately I like it. It has a lot of mistakes and detail errors to be sure, but if you look at it as an evolution of what was done in the original 90s line and with what they did with the 2009 movie line, it fits in well.
Does it compare with what DST did? Only in that they are models of the same ship. AA/ DST tried to give us as close to the filming miniatures as could be achieved as an adult collector toy. The new Playmates toy feels like a sturdy fun toy. So long as you go in with that in mind, I think there is a lot to enjoy here.
Ive not compared it side by side to the original classic playmates Enterprise, but this new ship feels down right huge next to the DST TOS Enterprise. This toy measures 18 inches long.
Again, like the figures, this line is hitting those nostalgia points and I am liking what they are doing. Not perfect by any stretch, but a lot of fun.

Greeting all,
Picard showed up today, and I have to say I think he is the best overall likeness for the line. Possibly ever for Playmates Star Trek. They added some very subtle wrinkles with the paint / printing similar to what they did with Saru and it looks quite good.
Id share pics, but Im still trying to sort that problem out.
