The street date on the Star Wars Black Series is the 15th of August so they should be appearing next week.

I recently contacted Playmates and Paula Billingsley replied to me with an upbeat email about how they have no plans for Star Trek at this time but never say never.

I also contacted Hasbro UK who were slightly short with me telling me that Kre-o is all that's planned for Star Trek.

I think contacting Hasbro via their Facebook page is perhaps one way, writing them email's, letters and ringing customer services etc... However I'd say contacting CBS Consumer Products and Paramount may prove to be more fruitful as they are the one's that own the licensing for Star Trek both old and new. Not promising anything but I did contact CBS Consumer Products in 2009 and asked that they consider Hasbro to hold the Star Trek license.

Okay...I bit the bullet and bought all the 6" Black Series Figures inluding the SDCC Fett/Solo....These things are beautiful and actually look better in person than on camera.... Im really impressed....I personally would be very excited to see Hasbro do something similar with Trek...that way they could take it easy and not worry about to much investment.....These really are nice...and suited to the discerning collector.

Oh I'm getting antsy waiting for these things to show up in the stores. I've only seen a tag for the 6" figures at Toys R Us and that has been removed since. They also had one case of the Black Series 3 3/4" figures. I've picked up most of the new Saga Legends and Mission Series wave. These all have 5 points of articulation like the originals in the 70s and 80s. I would not mind seeing a line of 3 3/4" like these for Star Trek and the 6" fully articulated figures for collectors.

Stumbled upon 3 of the 4 Black Series figures. Bought them immediately. Totally hooked. Nothing I can do. But...I'm having trouble...does anyone know how to get R2's third leg to descend? I haven't found any instructions.

Finally found one of these! I got Luke in X-Wing Fighter gear. I'm absolutely blown away. This is the best Star Wars figure I have ever owned and I've been getting them since 1978. If we are ever so lucky as to get Star Trek figures by Hasbro I will truly be a happily broke fan! I am starting to think that 3 3/4" figures should stick to the 5 Points of Articulation figures like the Iron Man 3 and Star Wars Saga Legends figures. The collector range could be like this 6" Black Series range. Actually for Star Trek it would be best if they had 7 POA like Galoobs TNG and Zica's Six Million Dollar Man figures. The knee bend is needed so our captains and crew will look right sitting in their bridge stations.

These do look cool. I haven't bought a Star Wars figure since I was a kid when the Original Trilogy movies came out. I may buy one just to see if I like them. I may be late on the first 4 so I may wait and get Boba Fett.

I saw R2 and Maul at my local Meyer.  Money is very tight so I could not pick them up.  They were so cool looking in person.

If anyone needs to order a Sandtrooper, you can order on Toyrus.com. They are in stock for the moment at $19.99.

I ordered the Sandtrooper from ToysRUs because I didn't think I could find one. Of course, then I go to Target and they have the Sandtrooper & Luke. lol I went to ToysRUs and they had R2, Maul, and Luke.

Im kinda unhappy with the size.  I was expecting a little bit larger scale to fit with Trek stuff but they fit more with the ML scale.  I bought Maul and the Sandtrooper and Im not sure if Im going to keep them.  I may not because I don't know if I want to get involved in a new collection and I wish they were bigger.  If I end up keeping them, Im going to cherry pick the whole line.  X-Wing Luke was a pass for me and I cant see spending $20 on that R2.  Wave two looks more intriguing with Slave Leia, Boba, and Han, so if I want to jump ship...now is the time :)

Interesting that you would pass on the X-Wing Luke. Do you not like the outfit? I am pretty impressed with the head sculpt. I've learned Wave 3 will have Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan MacGregor), Bespin Luke, another Stormtrooper and one as-yet-unlisted figure. I think they're pretty sweet. I get not loving the size, but I kinda feel like they're just right. Not too big, not too small, and highly detailed. I'm pretty pleased. I've pre-ordered wave two anticipating that Leia will be hard to find. Looking forward to it.

Now, if this was happening to 24th Century Star Trek...I'd need to get a second job. (Here's hoping)

I ended up opening them up last night. I really like the stormtrooper, Darth maul is a bit weird, size articulation, how they did the cloak. As for Luke I think the figure looks cool, but I'm just not a huge fan of that costume look. At $20, I'm planning on only getting one version of each character.

Have they announced a set number of waves or does it depend on how they sell?

Three are officially announced...however it seems to be open ended. I imagine it will continue as long as it's selling reasonably well. They are definitely targeting adult collectors, so the focus will be primarily on the original trilogy with "key characters from the new trilogy" (USA Today) I can't believe it will be anything but wildly successful. Their primary business model seems to be that a parent can buy toys along side their children and share the experience. I think it's great. I wish Star Trek were getting something like that. (I know all the reasons it's not...I'm just sayin'...it'd be nice).

Oh, and if I were to guess at the fourth "unannounced" figure of series 3, based on Bespin Luke, Obi-Wan (Ewan) and the Stormtrooper, I'd have to go with Darth Vader. That'd be a good choice, I think.

I received the Sandtrooper via UPS today from ToysRUs. I haven't decided if I will open it or leave it in the package. For those who don't open their figures, does the packaging need to be in perfect condition for you? There is some bends on the top and a dented in corner on the front bottom left. None would affect the figure. The back is perfect. I could exchange over packaging but what are the odds of getting a better packaged figure? I could also try Amazon since it's $19.99 there but it's also delivered through the mail so I can't pick out a copy myself. I will say the packaging of the figures at the local ToysRUs was in much worse condition. The Sandtrooper at the local Target wasn't any better either.

Well, as a collector who likes things in package (despite running out of room for such things), yes, packaging condition is important not just for my collection but also for resale value.  Especially for a line like this where the sleek packaging is part of the draw.  I have seen some in pretty good shape at a store.  Getting things in good condition from TRU, either in person or online, is usually a challenge...  For the best packaging, short of checking stores locally until you find it, you have to go to a collector-catering online store (or comic shop) such as BBTS or EE or similar.

Well for MIB and MOC collectors Packaging does count...if the card has a huge crease or the box is all banged up it really detracts from the value.
