Thought I'd bump this old thread, rather than post in the Eaglemoss thread about the Defiant again!

Quick scale comparison compared to the Nemesis-E (so 671 meters length):

In other words, the Eaglemoss version is almost bang-on with a 170-meter Defiant. With that said, here's a picture of it next to the DST E, and also an updated picture showing all my Defiant models together. As always, click for hi-res:

Hmmmm, looks like you guys REALLY love the Defiant.  LOL!

DD,how do you know your unreleased fig is the ONLY one in existence? I always have a hard time believing claims like that, lol, since it can't be proven as such. Wish they did release wave two though,if only to complete that bloody bridge, lol!

I like the Defiant, but it will never be my favorite ship. Maybe if I watch season 7 of DSN,lol! Never did finish that show.

Greetings Defiant fans.  I did a mini Defiant shoot to celebrate my import Eaglemoss Defiant's arrival a few weeks back.  Jay K suggested I share the pics over here too, so here goes:

Looks great, Ben! Jesus, I still haven't picked up my K't'inga and Defiant at the shop yet! The weather here has been grisly! Like I've said countless times, Mother Nature is a skank.

DD,how do you know your unreleased fig is the ONLY one in existence? I always have a hard time believing claims like that, lol, since it can't be proven as such. Wish they did release wave two though,if only to complete that bloody bridge, lol!

Rob, I know it's not the only Spock Academy Instructor figure in existence; I was told that it's the only packaged one in existence. It was sent to me by someone VERY, VERY high up at Playmates who said it's the only one that they made before the line was cancelled. He said that it was a "one-of-a-kind sample", his words, not mine. He asked me not to sell it for a couple of years and I have complied for over 4 years so far.

I suspect that his words are true as I've never seen another packaged fig from the wave and a few serious fig collectors have told me that these kind of mockups are exceedingly rare. I'm not a fig collector at all so I can only go by what others have said: I'd never pretend to be a fig expert. I do know enough about rare toys to know it could be worth a bundle... and sadly, I'm not wealthy enough to give it away cheap to a collector pal. I wish I could find out what similar items have gone for. I saw a packaged Action Fleet mockup of a Mon Calamari ship go for $565 recently and I know the shooting 3-3/4" Boba Fett goes for thousands but I have no idea if these are even in the ballpark. If anyone can help with solid numbers, I'd love to hear from you.

Originally, he said that he'd send me at least one starship from the unreleased Playmates 4" starship line.... but he came back from China and they'd all gone AWOL, apparently. I doubt I'd have been able to resist opening it if it had been a ship! Yep, I'm real stupid that way.  :)

Unfortunately, it has a slight ding in it because he threw it in a bubble envelope and shipped it via USPS from California. Probably won't affect its value by much due to its rarity. I kept the envelope as some sort of proof of its provenance.

I will flog it on eBay someday... or I'd trade it for a ship of equivalent rarity in a heartbeat. That Mon Cal would do!

Sorry about that Jay. It looks like my current image host is either dying or crashing all over the place. If it dies it dies... wait I mean if it dies I'll find a new one and edit the previous post, but they may very well come back up in a few hours so I think I'm going to wait and see for now.

Sorry to hear the weather has been bad, DD (as shocking as that is this time of year   ).  I really need a better plan of attack on the EM ships, especially the Defiant since I'm so sorely tempted to order way too many of them.  It must be that it was previously the hard ship to find and now that they are basically readily available I don't know what to do with myself.

Thanks for the clarification DD! Like I said,I ALWAYS have a hard time believing it when someone says it's the ONLY one, only to discover a year later there are five more, lol! Yeah,Boba Fett sold for 17 000 bucks a couple of years ago,on that Toy Hunter show, and he WAS asking for 20 000! I price haggled with him one year at NYCC for a set of Galoob TNG figs, lol! Still feel I could've gotten him to go lower, lol. Anyways, the same thing was said about the bridge pieces in a different thread and I said the same thing there, lol! Nice pic of the complete bridge though. And by the way,I've seen Boba go for more than 20 000. A few years ago,24 000. Kinda mindboggling that someone would pay that much for a piece of plastic,LOL! Even if it IS Boba....one of my faves from the SW universe.

Here it's still snowing,SOOO bored with it by now,but at least it's Sunday,I don't have to go out till tomorrow morning, lol!

No worries, Rob. If you'd just read my last post on the subject, it did indeed sound like I was saying there was only one fig made. :) Don't blame your skepticism at all! I know of someone (forget who) who managed to snag an entire completed bridge with ALL the figs from wave 2! For free! Yowza!

Gotta say that I'm pretty happy to have the packaged one. I've never owned an unproduced toy before.

$24K for a Boba!!! Utter madness!!!

What's the Toy Hunter guy like? I've thought about consigning my Spock to him. Any thoughts?

How many EM Defiants have you now got Ben? I'm sure that you'll have no trouble unloading them at a later date, if you choose to. The Akira's gonna be a hot tamale/scalper bait, too!

I read all the posts,if the subject interests me,lol! WOW! So they ARE out there! LOL! I would at least like to have completed the bridge. I actually liked the line they made, all three of them. Oh well, guess one can always hope.

Yeah,24K for Boba IS kinda pricey,LOL! Would I pay that much for him if I came across him? Never in a million years! And no,not even if I was a millionaire. lol! Funny thing is,the guy who bought him on the show did not look like he could just fork out 17K for him. So the old saying, don't judge a book by it's cover, comes to mind, lol! He even bought a Mego Greatest American Hero fig in a later episode for 10K! NEAT!

What's Toy Hunter guy like? He's a fun guy, even though he comes across as a sleazy used car salesman guy at times. Some call him a glorified scalper and I guess that's what I would call him too. The whole show is of course as fake as all the other shows like this and reailty crap and so on,but I like seeing the old toys I used to have and what they go for now and such. You could always try to get him to sell your fig on consignment, but I would wait a little longer as it's fairly new. It's the old stuff that sells I guess, lol! But you could always send him an e-mail and ask. A new season starts at the end of the month and I wanna see the episode he went to the UK to do,that he begged me to be on,lol! And apparently he sold a Dr.Kromedome from the old Six Million Dollar Man line for 4000 bucks, and I GOTTA see that, lol!

Ok,off to work.

Oops, my memory failed me, J-R! Turns out that the guy scored the Wave 2 pieces of the bridge and transporter, not the figures! My Spock is feeling kinda lonely! I've placed him in "The Hole", solitary confinement for now. :)

http://trekcore.com/...lete-until-now/

Hehe, I saw that Greatest American Hero guy with all the tats, he must have serious dosh to afford to drop $27K on 2 figs!

Agreed, "reality TV" is laughable. The TH guy really kills me when he offers to pay MORE than the seller wants. We all know that it would never, ever happen in real life! Obviously, he doesn't wanna be seen as the cut-throat douchebag he really is. LOL ;)

Appreciate your comments on TH and I think I'll just keep my fig away from that used car salesman/Scalp-o-tron 3000 for now!

Dr. Kromedome gave me a laugh... I think I have a new nickname for a follically-challenged friend of mine.

In hand, just the UK import so far.  On the way? More.

Actually now that I think about it, I may have a second being delivered any moment now.  But I do have a question, why would I ever want to get rid of a Defiant:unsure:

DD, the way you say just in case has me worried now...

But seriously I'm trying to be responsible and save up for all the other great EM ships yet to come this year.  We'll see how long that lasts. ;)

A dozen Defiants would look really cool on my shelf though...

I'm still hoping to customise one. Rub the decals off somehow, and apply my own (USS Thunderbolt or USS Warthog), and put the A-10's shark mouth on the nose. :)
