Applause no doubt released the other characters in another box set. They also released a TOS set that included several aliens. I have the Spock figure but its not the best Spock figure ive ever seen. I like articulated figures beter, and these are like mini statues than action figures.

No, I generally would not look sideways at something like this.

But since they included the Doctor I will make an exception.

Anyone have a pic of the Picard set?

I couldn't see any of the Picard set on eBay.

Haven't been here in a while!

Does ayone have some nice loose pics of the following Playmates items:

TOS Galilleo Shuttlecraft
DS9 Shuttlecraft - was it the Rio Grande?

Some pics with figures inside would also be very welcome...but any pics are fine. smile.gif

Looking at that pic, I have to say the Trek franchise had probably jumped the shark long before Nemesis. But the section with the Argo ORV was where the franchise was raped by a panda.

The DS9 shuttle is actually the Orinoco, i think thats the correct spelling. I have the TNG Transporter made by playmates, ands it a pretty decent toy, considering that it has an effect of really beaming away your figure! This can be had on ebay fairly reasonably a lot of the time. I got mine MIB from ebay for less than they were sold for in stores. The Engineering section with real working effects is a pretty nice little playset along with the TNG bridge, which hooks to it. Wish Playmates had made TOS playsets.

You know, I still have never tried to connect the Bridge & Engineering!!!

It is a shame Playmates did not manage to release that TOS Bridge Playset...it would have been sweeeeeeet.

Wow...cheers for the pics MattP. smile.gif

I had though it looked different to that for some reason!

Very worth having as the only DS9 playset/vehicle....& I think it looks kinda cool.

I gather it is not too accurate Stomfury?

It's not accurate, obviously, and it is much smaller in scale, once again obviously, in relation to the figures. However, it was made as a toy and for maxmimum play value and it doesn't differ too much from other toys of its ilk. Scale is rarely an issue with toy lines meant for the mass market (i.e. kids) and to make it in scale with the figures would have made it huge. So, to maximize play value, it was made small enough to be manageable, but made large enough to fit a couple of figures, though not in any accurate fashion.

After owning the TNG shuttle, I did not think the DS9 version would be any different in terms of scale.

They still look good with the figures standing around them or sitting in them.

Anyone have pics of the TOS Shuttle?

I don't have the Gallileo or the Columbia, but I do have a TOS shuttle from Starship Exeter. It is a Playmates TOS shuttle.

Front opens up and comes with a Kirk figure. Capt. Garravick is shown here. There is a hatch that opens below the front console to display the phaser banks.

Tail Gunner Cutty is sitting at Mr. Spock's Science Station. You should know that the really big gun is supposed to mount in the front, but then you can't put a figure there.

Just to show the size (yeah, right, hehe) Capt. Garrovick is leaning on the front of the Archimedes while Cdr. Harris, Cdr. Cutty and Lt. B'fuselek spread out.

Hope this helps and gives you some idea of what the Playmates TOS shuttle looks like.

The really big gun is really a missile launcher. I painted it white and red. Look closely and you can see it is the ships cannon from "The Cage".

It would have been nice to see some properly scaled shuttles.

Or even made to be a bit more spacious, having two front seats in each.

Though I guess they would have been a much larger item had they done so. Still would have been sweet.
