Oh, nice blog. Look forward to future entires. Keep us posted. BTW, I have the whole set of original Playmates Trek toys and I had completetly forgotten about Harry Mudd! I guess I don't remember it because many figures I never got around to opening and playing with, and Mudd must be one of them boxed-up for future playtime. biggrin.gif Those don't look much like dilithium crystals, do they? One thing that always bugged me about the original Playmates Trek figz is that the accessories came unpainted. In any case, I used to paint mine, which was kinda fun.

Very cute Mugatu costume on your blog. Did they like wearing it?

Definitely! The reviews will be split between all the toy companies that have covered Classic Trek, plus comics, books, games, etc....

And my youngest actually did enjoy wearing it. He had his Mugatu roar perfected by the time of trick or treating!

That Sarek custom is awesome. Was there ever a mass-produced Sarek figure?

There was an older Sarek made for the TNG line...but never a classic one.

Nice updates. I remember when Dress McCoy came out and it was somewhat limited compared to others and I was all worried I'd never find one. But I lucked out at a Target--that chain came through for me time and time again for the hard to find Playmates figures. It was one of my favorite figures from the Playmates line. As far as the 12" Gorn, that one was a huge disappointment to me. I was wanting a good Gorn figure and then it came out and was too skinny. They spent all that money for a special one-use sculpt and cheaped-out and didn't spend the 15 cents for extra plastic to bulk him up properly. Playmates, during the original Trek run, did some awesome toys, but when they messed up they messed up badly. End rant mode. djparty.gif

Hey all,

What I loved about this figure (as well as Beverly from Generations and T&T O'Brien) was that the UK got the first 1000 numbered figures on alternative cards. I was over the moon. My McCoy is number 401 and Beverly is 112. Due to the new packaging, you can not see the number O'Brien's foot and of course I've not opened it wink.gif

Take care,
Matty-lad

Nice update. I agree, Playmates captured Chekov (including his Perry Comb-over) quite well. cool.gif
