5 new Kirks and only 2 new Spocks from Playmates? Playmates must be following DST's advice. The lineup looks pretty good, guess i was hoping for a Original Spock with his Delta Vega coat on. Since Playmates has now showcased about every Kirk outfit he wore in the movie, whats next, a Bar fight Kirk with swollen eyes? An underwear only clad Kirk from Gaila's dorm room? Maybe a swollen hand Kirk after Bones gives him that shot?
I would like a Vulcan outfit Spock, Child Spock and a Sarek/Amanda two pack.

I think this line will get a push around Christmas time with the DVD release. I wouldn't be surprised if Playmates makes a move for a license to do other Trek shows in the 2-3 years it takes Paramount to bring us the sequel. This isn't like Indiana Jones where it's uncertain if there will be an Indy 5 to keep the interst there. Even Hasbro has said that if an Indy 5 is made they will resume figure production. Retailers just don't back anything without a movie or television show backing it.

Out of all of the wave two figz, I like the new 12" best (especially Uhura, but also Scotty and Nero). Sure hope we get Nero's pole/weapon, as shown. The Polarilla and Lobster Monster (I like those names better laugh.gif ) seem to be stupid additions. They were seen in the movie for all of ten seconds? I predict those never get made. Is that utility belt adult-sized, or only for kids? Damm the kids, I want one!

Hey all,

Is it too early to speculate on series 3 figures then after seeing series 2? I'm guessing we'll see Uhura in Enterprise Outfit, Cadet Sulu, Pike in Academy Instructers Uniform and the promised Scotty in Ice Planet outfit that should have been included in wave one. Of course there's also the obligatory Kirk from the Kobyashi Maru, along with McCoy and Uhura (if we get 2 Uhuras in one wave) plus Cadet Gaila. If not, we can easily customize Sulu & Pike for starters.

Take care,
Matty-lad

I think they are fantastic additions! I'm sure kids will love the monsters. I know I want them! They were definitely on the top of my wish list. I'm glad they're making some larger ones so they might be more in-scale with the smaller figures. But if they are supposed to fit on the same packaging as the Warp series figures they can't be THAT big. I thought it was weird they were releasing the Drakoulis in two scales until I realized that the smaller Drakoulis and larger lobster monster were probably going to be more in scale to each other that way.

I think those are pretty good guesses, though I'd much rather have a Pike in Admiral's uniform with wheelchair then a cadet trainer Pike. I'm also looking forward to Ice Planet Scotty now that we know the Bridge and Transporter are not going to be re-released with the black-shirted Kirk and Ice Planet Scotty. I hope the 12'' Ice Planet Scotty and Sarek that were rumored might still happen too, though Chekov is at the top of my list in that scale, of course.

So the monsters will come in the same packaging the 3 inchers come in?

I was surprised that black shirt Kirk wasn't released in the 1st wave. He was only Captain in the gold for what 3 minutes?

When will Keenser in Enterprise uni see the light of day?

About the 12'' Uhura figure's arms.... I hope it has elbow articulation. I kind of wonder if that's not just an unarticulated proto. The legs look to be photoshopped to me. Maybe not though.

^That annoys me about Nyota Uhura as a figure. Now the 6 incher is in her Academy togs and with elbow articulation but since those were long sleeved they had wiggle room.

It could be that PM doesn't want to sacrifice sculpt accuracy by putting in joints on her bare arms. Now they could go the swivel joints like they do with certain Star Wars figures.

I'm more likely to forgive the lack of an elbow joint on a smaller figure rather than a 12'' figure though. I really hope they work some in.
