That was a very interesting post! It's interesting to note on the box art that Scotty is shown without his trademark film era moustache.

I think your mistaken, the art only shows Kirk,Spock,McCoy, Decker and Ilia. Not Scotty that i see..................

Yeah, that's actually supposed to be Bones on the box art.... Though it does look a lot like Scotty too...

I guess it was supposed to be Bones, but to me it looks more like Scotty.

I figured you just had a little too much bloodwine before you looked at it. Vulcan eyes, on the otherhand, are quite logically more discerning.

James, that was an awesome review. I was around for the original versions lo those many years ago and I wore them out. The shirtless comments were great! Many times my Kirk was sans shirt in a forced death match with the Klingon due to some controlling unseen alien entity. You are spot on about the resemblance to the animated series back then. Especially if you look at the Klingon. Ahh...the wistfulness of my youth. I wouldn't trade my life today for anything but I wish every now and then I had a Deloren w/ a flux capacitor. wink.gif

James, I think you have another great spotlight there.
I think that the lost luster of the delta shield is because there was/is a silver foil sticker on the grey one, they dont last too long, and I am not sure of the EMCE's composition, but I think it is too big.
Thanks for the info.

Exactly right about the foil on the original. They weren't even a sticker...I have no idea exactly, but I almost think in playing with it that a thin foil sheet was pressed onto a gray thick sheet then stamped out in the shape of the arrowheads. It's not sticky enough to even call it a sticker.

The EMCE's are exactly that though - a sticker. It also has a mirror finish, and is a different cut. The originals were more foggy like aluminum foil.

Yep! My carded Mego Kirk has the shiny layer still, but my loose one lost it long ago....

Nice review Sallah! I think i remember back in 1979 or 1980 when these actually hit the stores i bought one for the regular price of $7.00 or $8.00! I have a couple of these that i have been meaning to use the Megomuseum recommended treatment on.
