Here's a hell of an illustration between Dathon and Vorgon with pog values in late 2019. Same seller, same day, very different results.

The International version of Seven of Nine went for $108.28 + $7.70 shipping after 19 bids.

At this going rate it's outperforming Red Data, Barclay, and Yesterday's Yar. But Seven is a bit of an interesting character at the moment, unexpectedly so, with Jeri Ryan's impending comeback in the Picard series.

Ambassador Spock with pog, MIB, sold for $9.60 + $4.00 shipping as a Buy it Now.

This was the Spock variant with the dark spotted body and mixed-color arms.

Not a lot of money, as far as these go, but not dirt-cheap either. The Spock on 2nd release with pog is a bit rarer than the one with the Skybox card, but not wildly so. But this result is pretty strong in this day and age, when 2nd release figures are dime a dozen. So there's some hunting going on here.

Vorgon with pog, MIB, unpunched card, sold for $13.39 + free shipping, after 9 bids.

Fierce battle here: 9 bids!

Yes, this is what gets you Vorgon with pog these days. Pretty realistic result -- these are nowhere as pricey as they were back in the day, unlike Dathon.

Mail-away Sisko in an unopened bag, with certificate, foot number 2832, sold for $400.00 in Jan 2019.

First of all: sweet Jebus that's a lot of money. Is this how much they go for?

Having said that, I don't remember seeing a single on on eBay in like 5 years, so there is definitely a natural scarcity issue there.

This is still one of those figures that I dream about finding at a garage sale or something. Let's put aside for a moment the fact that I haven't seen a single Trek figure at a garage sale in like a decade, but yeah -- that would be nice.

What's funny is that back in the '90s the Sisko mail-away figure was offered for around $80-90 in the big comic book shops that advertised in Lee's and Tomart's, about the same as Thomas Riker, but there just was not a freakout of any sort about the figure, possibly because cardless figures were undervalued, so therefore the figure was "loose" in the eyes of collectors and scalpers. But his production run was not huge, so he was undervalued in relation to the production run.

Compare that to now, when you can get a Thomas Riker almost for free -- look hard enough and you'll find figures that are cheaper than the shipping cost. Sisko, on the other hand...

Red Data on US card, MIB, went for $222.50 + $15.39 shipping after 2 bids.

This seems implausible, cause these were selling for $50-80 just a few months ago, so I'm tempted to chalk this one up to buyer enthusiasm (possibly after some glasses of pinot) after watching several episodes of the Picard show in rapid succession.

This is not where these trade at all, and this is just a wild-ass result. But hey -- good for the seller!

Had to chuckle that it's listed as "Lieutenant Commander Date"

Maybe someone was drunk-bidding on a military escort.  ;)

Tapestry Picard, MIB, went for $301.01 with free shipping after 11 bids.

This is about market priced at the moment, but I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot of these appear on eBay in the next 6 months or so.

I think one has to remember that a lot of these are still new in box, and there are far more of these out there than some rarer items, like Canadian Sarek with pog, Dathon with pog and some other variants. So while this is still the holy grail, for better or worse, these trade hands all the time and the numbers of these still MIB are very high. There are more of these out there than Canadian Red Datas for instance -- that's pretty clear. The Picard show might be giving interest in these a boost at the moment, but $300 is still where these have been for a while.

Rom with Nog, in blister, recently brought (brace yourselves) $9.99 + $9.60 shipping after 2 bids.

Strong result, and I can't help but wonder if it's the fact that Nog is in front of the pog here that resulted in such a strong price. It's a variation, I would say, but not one that has drawn much demand.

Another Rom with Nog, in blister on a very wavy card, with Nog also in front of the pog, has brought $11.99 + $6.15 shipping after 1 bid.

Once again, these values are playing chicken with $20 at the door mark, which is a recent phenomenon, one that has emerged in the last couple of years I would say.

Our returning champion, the Tri-Fold Borg, has recently generated $1,200 + free shipping after 4 bids.

The starting price for this one was $899.99 and three bidders managed to quickly run that number up.

Needless to say, demand for things Borg is probably at a 20-year high at the moment, but at the same time these are probably not just people motivated by the Picard show streaming on CBS, to pay $1,200 for a Borg figure on a different card. If you were going to pay north of a grand for a Tri-Fold Borg, odds are you have probably been wanting this figure for something like a decade. So the recent interest in things Borg is probably not a factor.

But these come up for auction about once a year or once every six months, so opportunities to buy one at an open auction don't present themselves all that frequently. In past years values for these have ranged between $600 and $900, based on auction results.

Well here's an absolute low record: Projections Barclay, MIB, recently went for $30.00 + free shipping.

I knew there would be a bumper crop of Trek figures hitting the ebays, as soon as a pandemic began, with people looking to cash out, and indeed the number of figures on offer has swelled from its usual 19K mark to about 24K at the moment. Add to some spirited bidding on very common figures, thanks to Picard being on the air, and we'd be in the midst of a 10-year sales boom.

But Jebus, I didn't think we'd see Projections Barclay going for 30 bucks! "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!!"

Prior to this, they had been known to sell for $60-90, after there are always a bunch on offer as well, so there had never really been a shortage of them out there. These were also heavily scalped and remained in their boxes, to the point that I doubt that some kid even ended up just randomly coming across one at Target. The clerks at all the big box stores were notorious resellers themselves. So there are so many unopened Barclays out there, that they've been trading below $100 for a decade and a half now.

Everyone is afraid to buy anything?

I think it means different things for different figures. Really common TNG figures, understandably, have been bringing about twice their value lately thanks to the Picard series, but that's for casual buyers.

Common rares like Barclay are heading to market at fire sale starting prices, because people are trying to cash out. But a lot of collectors have that figure and others in its category, and they don't want to spend any money at all right now.

Ultra-rares like Tri Fold Borg are... unaffected.

I think we'll see more rares and ultra-rares flood the market as collectors who have multiples try to cash out, the economy being what it is, while a lot of people sit on their hands over relatively common rares like Barclay, which were heavily scalped back in the day and remain in their packages.

Mail Away Sisko with foot number 003380 recently sold for $165.50 + $8.00 shipping after 8 bids.

This is a pretty realistic price these days, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of these come to auction in the coming months, because this is one of the few figures that always sells well. The seller here included the original bag and certificate that came with these.

I keep hoping to come upon one of these at a garage sale, but I don't even remember the last time I saw any trek figure at a garage sale. But it's not impossible to land one of these for very little, because sellers of estate sales sometimes just list a bunch of loose figures in bulk and this one could be among them.

My favorite rare figure. Wish that Nintendo game wasnt so hard!

This is one of the few figures that actually appreciated since the 1990s, when it was usually offered for about $90 or so by the big action figure scalper emporiums. I think the lack of a blister pack, weirdly enough, kept it from gaining more popularity at the time, but the production run was pretty modest. But the main thing was that this figure did not produce an insane craze of any sort with people pulling their hair out and melting down over being unable to get it, unlike some other figures we know well.

But now you can't even get it for $90 -- it takes about twice that amount of you're lucky.

I've never seen that DS9 game for sale in any of the shops that stock SNES games. The teasers for the game made it sound epically boring. I'll take a look on youtube to see what it's all about. It's not a DK-style side-scroller where Sisko just jumps on bad guys and then faces a boss at the end of each area.

Demand for Picard figures is going up thanks to the series, and it seems a lot of buyers (though perhaps not necessarily collectors) want the 7th season version.

This one fetched $17.50 + free shipping after 5 bids recently, and this seems to be a slightly strong result for the current time.

Here are 10 figures, in no particular order, that have been selling well on eBay in the past 6 months.

Most of these are self-explanatory, thanks to the Picard show, but some I have no explanation for but I keep seeing wild bidding efforts week after week for stuff that used to be $5 plus shipping on a good day, but now is $15 to $25. I'm not saying all of these are now in that range, but they tend to draw some bidding wars, currently, and end up being kinda pricey, whether boxed or loose.

1. Picard, all uniform types (but not as a Romulan, Galen or Generations, etc)

2. Locutus & Metallica Locutus

3. Borg, all varieties

4. Hugh, obviously

5. Rom and Nog (this is really weird, but they've been going for about 20 bucks)

6.  Crusher from All Good Things

7. B'Elanna

8. Saavik

9. Dr. Zimmerman, MD (holographic)

10. Tasha
