I've finally finished the first two customs of my favorite TV show ever, Quantum Leap. I might have to go back and re-do Sam at some point, as I'm not completely satisfied with the results, but I'm totally happy with Al.
Sam's outfit isn't related to any special episode. It's just him in "regular" clothing. I used a COTEOF-Spock upper torso and lower legs, the rubber jacket that came with COTEOF-Kirk, Dr. Soong-arms (better articulation than with the COTEOF-figures) and Calhoun's legs (he had 2 left feet, so I didn't mind much cutting them off and replacing them). The head is a shrunken version of the AA-Archer head. Unfortunately, the mold wasn't so good and I had to re-sculpt the nose and chin a liitle bit.
For Al I decided to use his "stop sign-jacket"-outfit, that he wore for example in Glitter Rock. My girlfriend loves this outfit, and since the figures are for her, I thought it'd be perfect. I used the 1st wave Picard for the body and a heavily modified Riker-head (actually I re-sculpted everything except the neck, the nose and eyes). I'm extremely happy with the head and I will make a few copies of it, because it turned out so good... Oh, I've also made a little handlink and a tiny cigar for Al, but when I took the picture, I had just painted them and they hadn't dried yet.
I'm planning to make a few more Quantum Leap customs, for example Sam in a dress and Al in his uniform. And I'm really looking forward to my girlfriend's reaction when she gets them...

Very nice work. Those look great.
You need to make Al's little computer device he always carried around. Keep em coming.

Yeah, the handlink. As I said, I had just painted it, when I took the picture. It just hadn't dried yet. I even made a very tiny cigar for him... Here's a new pic:

Amazing! I loved (and still do) this show. Any chance we can get a Sam w/ Leaping effect variant?

I love this show as well. Leaping effect? I could try and paint some fluorescent paint on him.

I was trying to figure out what call that "blue lightning" effect we see when Sam leaps out...
