Like many I was annoyed that AA did not make a Hoshi or Phlox besides the Space suited versions. So I've decided to make my own. I was lucky enough to find a Phlox at a reasonable price and have a T'Pol and TNG Troi for Hoshi.

Has anyone else make these?

What the best way to make them?

Any advise would be appreciated

Hey,

I am part way through a Hoshi using a Malcolm Reed body. Her head doesn't look too small on it. Planning on doing the same with T'Pol at dome point too.

For Phlox, I've seen people use a Khan body, heavily modified.

Take care,
Matty-lad

I do have a Reed I could use. Would you think it possible to remove the rubber suit and put it onto the T'Pol to give her a feminine build?

I think I've seen some members cut back the hips on Malcom and then re-attach the rubber to try and give her some shape.

I've never been a fan of the Rubber on those, and so I went the other rout which was to finish the crew in away-team bucks.

I tried it a completely different way. I made a negative resin mold out of one of the male figures. Hi carefully applied liquid latex into the pockets and shape of the figure. Peeled it out and glued it onto a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon female figure. T'Pol seems too skinny and tall. There were a few parts that wrinkled, and I tried to use his arms, but it was a good enough attempt

Does anyone have any pictures of this work or stage by stage?

Has anyone used the female bodies from the Stargate Atlantis line? That was something I considered when creating a BB Hoshi.

One of my biggest problems is difficulty obtaining these figures in the UK. I was lucky to find a couple of Phlox at a reasonable price. I am hunting for a Hoshi for the head. As for the SG Atlantis figures I found a Doctor Weir I might be able to use but is the jacket removable so I could mould the jumpsuit top? Does anyone have this figure who could advise me before I spend out any money

I did start to make a Hoshi, well, two Hoshis in fact. This one was going to be the regular unfiformed Hoshi but the head is actually for the Mirror universe Hoshi, which was the second on my list.

The head is a cast from a mold I recieved from Daysleeper. I removed the hair and then resculpted it to match the Mirror darkly hairstyle. The Body is all T'pol including the feet but I removed T'pol's pants and replaced them with the pants from a spare Reed figure. It did involcve cutting them onto front and back halves down the side seams and then trimming to fit the female figure. The top half required a severe reduction in the size if the chest and then the uniform was sculpted over the top of T'ppol's torso. I will endeavour to get it finished at some stage and then that just leaves the two Phloxes to make.

Correction, from the knees to the ankles is also from the reed figure but the feet are from T'pol

Here is a comparison shot I did to check uniform colour match etc.

That's awesome! I got a Hoshi and happen to to have a spare Reed.

Have you done any work on the Phlox?

Not yet, to speak of. I have the two heads sorted out, (normal and mirror) but I need to sort out bodies. It's not, in all honesty, high on my priority list as Phlox only ever appeared on the bridge in one or two episodes to my knowledge.

I ended up using a Admiral Riker body. I shortened the legs and repainted. Here he is compared to Archer

Hoping to start work on Hoshi next.

I have now completed both the Phlox and Hoshi. I plan on getting a proper group shot but for now here are my own efforts:

The legs and rubber jump suit are from a Reed. The hips , arms and upper torso are from a T'Pol. The head is a EVA suit Hoshi and then Games Workshop Green Stuff modelling putty and paints to finish
