Hey guys, I have recently put together a very ambitious list of customs I'd like to get through to fill some much-needed holes in my Battlestar collection. I have a couple ideas for Baltar's body but nothing solid for his head yet. I've thought about using an extra Bashir head or casting a Stargate Mitchell head and sculpting a beard and hair. (I'm new to casting heads though)
Does anyone have any tips on casting methods or other suggestions for a good Baltar likeness?

Hey mate

I can't cast to save my life but my first thoughts were Bashir as well, look forward to seeing what you come up with.

When I read the title of the post, I thought Kor without the beard. I was not even thinking of the new series, which I love too.

I wholeheartedly support the suggestion to use a Bashir action figure due to the strong resemblance between Callis and Siddig.

it is a good head to use but i think you will have to scale it down some.

Yeah, that's why I'm hesitant to use it. I've never tried scaling things down before. I found a cheaper/simpler method for casting heads but it hasn't really worked out yet. http://btvsfigs.prob...mp;thread=12720
I tried casting Bill Adama's head but the details weren't coming out right. Do you have any suggestions or would you be able to help out with the actual casting?

Is anyone considering the AA TOS Bashir figure, or are you thinking DSN?
I looked side by side, and it does not look too far off for the smaller TOS figure. I compared it with an Apollo figure, and it is not too bad. Of course you will need to decide what to do with the necks...

Oooo, good point. Thank you! The TOS one is smaller, has a wider face, and a bit more of an expression. If I can cast it properly, then the neck wouldn't be a problem. I'd just cut it off and dremel a hole up for his joint.
Oh yeah, and I did a Photoshop mock-up of Stargate Mitchell with a beard and long hair and oddly enough it looked a little like Ron Moore. laugh.gif

Well, Baltar still hasn't been done yet but here are a few off of my huge list I mentioned earlier:

Some of the head swaps were done simply to utilize parts because I don't like the leftovers just lying in a drawer.
