Just bought one of these off ebay and was wondering if anyone can tell me (as the instructions are not in it) what the official colours to paint (either revell or humbrol) for either the 1701 Refit or 1701-A model??

I'm gonna have a go at this sucker .. :-)

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Im not sure about the questions you asked but I wish luck. I have been wanting to tackle that one for a while. I just have no where to put it when its done.

However I just picked up the revell 1:350 JJ Enterprise to tackle. So good luck to us both. I look forward to seeing your progress.

For the main hull do you plan to aztec it or just paint it one color?

The strongback ( The area that is colored and extends back from the defelctor on the top of the secondary hull varies in color depending if you are going to make it the A or the Refit.)

The RCS Thrusters ( The triangles on the top and bottom of the saucer section and squared off areas on the warp fins) are yellow.

The outside warp grilles are a very dark gray or black depending on what you prefer.

The inside warp grilles are a blueish/purple with black indentations.

I'd love to Aztec it ... Never done lights though.

I've recently done Kronos 1, Enterprise-C and the new BSG as like a trial run.

Any suggestions for sites to upload pics or is there a specific site to use here?

I usually just use photobucket. They are pretty easy and give you a url to copy and paste right into a forum post.

Have just discovered that 'Santa' will be bringing me one of these bad boys at Xmas!  although I'm not sure that my painting skills are up to Aztecing the whole thing...  It does however, come with a full set of Aztex Decals, BUT... and its a big But.... I can't find a single example online of one that's been built using the Decals.... are they that awful?

They aren't awful..... Just difficult to apply..... You need a lot of decal setting solution and solvent solution so the decals adhere and conform to the surface.
