It was announced earlier tonight that William Shatner will be attending for two days at the London Film & Comic Con on July 17-18th. He'll be having photo-ops on both days as well as talks. For more info, visit: http://www.londonfil....com/index.html
I was SO psyched to hear this, I am definitely going to attend at that convention! I met Leonard Nimoy last year, so meeting Shatner was my #1 wish out of all the celebrities I'd like to meet.
Anyone here plan on attending?

Very cool.. a little out-of-country for me. Hope he's a pleasure to meet! I don't think I could afford to meet him.

Hey all,
I am tempted to attend this. There's also a Power Ranger going to be there so I could drag my brother along as he is a massive fan. We'll see.
Take care,
Matty-lad

Ok, so here is the story of my experience of the convention:
Shatner was late to the convention, but we knew that a couple of weeks ahead. We was one of the first to arrive in line, about 2 hours prior to opening. I wouldn't take any chances even though I had advance tickets, I knew Shatner would be busy. We were 19th and 20th in line if my math was correct. An hour later there were hundreds behind us. The doors finally opened and we moved quickly as hell to the guy who held the virtual queue tickets. I got number 19! That was a great number to get, there was no way I'd miss him now!
Time went, and when it was about 12, I went to see if anything was happening, one hour before he was supposed to arrive. I was told that Shatner would be there very soon and that anyone with a ticket between 1-100 could stand in line. I got my things from the bag and went straight to the line, paid for my autographs and just waited for him to arrive.
I was arranging my things to get signed, and when I looked up, all of a sudden there he was - William Shatner!! It felt so unreal, of course. The man looked great for his age, I mean really great, like he just stepped out of the set of Boston Legal. He seemed to be in a good mood, joked with his assistants and all that. To my surprise, he greeted a fan getting an autograph! As I may or may not have mentioned before, Shatner is notorious for being extremely busy and those getting autographs from him will usually not even get a hello, or even a glance from the man. If this were to happen to me as well, I'd be fine with it as I expected something like that. It would still be cool to say you have met Captain Kirk himself and gotten a bunch of autographs from him. Anyway, my time in line had come and I gave his assistant the things to get signed and moved a couple of steps so that I stood in front of Shatner. To my extreeeeeeme joy, he looked up at me, smiled and said "Hello". I responded with a simple "Hi".
After he had signed all my items, I got them all together and THIS happened:
Me: Thank you very much
God: Thank you very much.
HE THANKED ME!! That made my day right there, it was above all expectations I ever had. I left with a stupid smile on my face that is still with me as I write this.
Two hours later it was time for the photoshoot, which went very fast. It went pretty much like this:

Man that is really cool. I am glad you got to meet him and had a great time. Thanks for sharing a cool experience with us. Maybe one day I will get to meet the man himself.
