I thought the whole Q collection thing was just plain bogus. I refused to buy a DVD set just to get a blue Picard. I have all of the next gen seasons (none of the DS9 / Voyager), so basically I'm buying a set of which I already have around 3/4 of the episodes of I just couldn't bring myself to do it, especially since I didn't like the Q Voyager episodes. (I don't remember the Q DS9 episode. Haven't seen it in forever.)
Of course people like me are the ones who are going to drive up the price of the figure... if I ever decide I really want one. In which case I would have been better off just to buy the set. Such is the illogic of my life, and why I'm just a chump of a chimp

All that said, its a perfectly reasonable means of releasing an unusual and ultimately non-essential figure that's ultimately quite available to anyone who wants one. Sure, you have to get a DVD set with it, but how different is that from buying the Nemesis Riker and Troi to get CoC Data? Its a freebie as an incentive to buy another product. I didn't want an extra Riker and Troi, but I'll find a use for the set. Likewise, you may have seen fit to sell off the DVD set used. Its going for $22.50 used at Amazon against the in stock price of $27.99. You could sell it yourself at Amazon and get about $18. So, basically, you'd pay $10 for the figure. A pretty good bargain all things considered. You could easily afford to seriously undercut the current low prices to try to make sure your set sells and still get the figure for under ordinary retail prices for a single figure. I sure like that.

I am still missing a Playmates Worf because I passes over that VHS offer they did and now I regret it. There was no way I was missing out on Tapestry Picard.

You know, you're right. If it had been a TWOK Spock, Uhura or Saavik figure, I probably would have broken down and bought the set. But it was Picard in a very tacky uniform with that really horrendous head sculpt, so I had no problem passing on it.

I was so busy spending all my money on comics I got left behind
with all the Trek figures when they were originally coming out, which is strange since
I was working at a comic store and buying everything else AA was putting out.
I now know better and am trying to stay on top. I'm just excited to go to
San Diego Con in July to get everything Trek that is coming out this summer.
I've already spent so much on figures trying to catch up, so no sense in stopping now.

If they're out of stock then...well, excuse me, I must go throw something.

They're out of stock. I found a good deal for the Q DVD set recently as well and emailed Chris about it and he said they don't have anymore. Anyone got an extra one?

Felt bad making people read about these Galoob Star Trek V guys, so the reward for somebody will be a Tapestry Picard!
Thanks!
