Got this today, from my understanding, a few days earlier than you yanks? Australia got it even earlier if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, here are some pics of this beauty, which will be watched umpteen times this coming week!

Pretty sweet edition, will look very good on the shelf next to my other DVD's.

Did anyone else here get this? I believe it was released in Sweden, the UK & Australia. Not sure about other places.

That's actually pretty cool. I don't think we're getting that over here, but I haven't really heard yet. Thanks for sharing!

That is sweet! We in the states won't be getting that version. The only one we get with an Enterprise is an 8" Pewter one that is an Amazon Exclusive

Actually we're getting it next week. TrekMovie has a story up about the different versions of DVDs and Blu-Ray for the movie. The model is exclusive to Target here in the States.

I might just have to get that one! The model looks better than the Playmates toy!

Is the model set for Blu-ray only or do the have it in the 2 disc standard DVD as well?

It'll be available at Target for both the 2-DVD disc or 3-Blu-Ray disc versions and Best Buy Canada for only the Blu-Ray option.

Curious -- what material is the stand made of? It doesn't look very good.

It's all really strong plastic. The only thing is when you put it together, stand included, you can't get it back apart.

BlueArrow, can the ship be removed from the stand easily, or is this also one of those parts that can't be separated once assembled?

No can do. Once it's on, it's on. You might be able to get the stand off but you wouldn't be able to get it back on. For what it is, it's a really nice little model. Better than Playmates effort for sure. The fact its a DVD case is completely concealed.

Does the movie still come in a usual DVD case so you can use the Enterprise as just a model kit if you want?

The AU version did come with a regular DVD case. I'm not sure if the States version will or not though. Given it's size it could *almost* come off as a 1/1000, or 1/2500 depending on how you scale the ship, model. The thing is also pretty fun to put together.

Just picked up the Target Exclusive, the Enterprise Case really does rock. It makes for a very nice display.
