Does anyone happen to know when the next TITAN book is due out? I saw a preview of it somewhere and I think on the cover was the ship (from the contest where you had to design the looks of it), but can't remember when and haven't seen anything about it since. Anyone know anything? unsure.gif

The next Titan book, Sword of Damocles was scheduled for released this summer (July 31 2007) according to Pocket Books summer 2007 catalogue (page 85) however SimonSays.com is listing the books availability around November 27 2007.

Both sources are from simonsays.com but I would trust the actual listing on the site over the PDF document. The PDF document may have been published prior to a date change and never updated.

I know they are planning to include a colored insert with a profile of the U.S.S. Titan as designed by Sean Tourangeau. Winner of the Titan Design Contest. This could be causing some delays in the release of this book.

That's a long time inbetween books. dry.gif
I picked up all three back in December and read them back to back and just started to figure out who was who (since the ship seems to have a billion officers serving on it) and by the time this one rolls out, I might not even remember Deanna Troi's doubt duties aboard the ship.

Thanks, Kidd, for finding that for me.

I really like the Titan books. The diverse crew is great, and yet I often wish I had a chart of who everyone was and where they work. I love how one of the counselors is Disney's Stitch! Sti'atch is the species in the book, but they reference the cuddly blue look, extra arms, and eating huge amounts of food.

I am actually working on that now. I printed up a list of all the crew and now jotting down what species they are (and what they look like if it's an unknown species) and what they do on the ship. It's a three page list so far... and that's JUST their names!!!

One of the best things about the new frontier series is that they included in the hardcover edition of the first four books a pull out crew painting. It mad eit much easier to figure out who was who and what they possibly looked like.

Memory Alpha (Wiki) has a pretty good list of all the Titan Characters with rank name and species with pics. Click the link to check it out. Also check out Memory Beta (Wiki) Titan Crew Manifest Nice list here as well and with with pics of the species not listed on Memory Alpha.

I agree that it's a pretty long wait for the next installment of the Titan series. But I beleive if it was not for the fact that they are reveiling the Titan ship design this book would be out already.

This would be a great idea for the Titan books in order to know who is who. Even if it's just the main characters.

Somehow though, I think the bionic ostrich character is best left to the imagination.

Here is someone's page with senior officer pics. While not "canon," it can help with who to picture as who.

I read book 3 back in January of '06 so it definitely is a long long wait... although I plan to re-read the books after I get through the 2 Lost Era books I have and the rest of the recent books I picked up.

Thanks, Bryan! That is a great page! Helped a bit. Though they chose a really handsome guy for Ranul Keru and by his description in the book he is not that attractive. smile.gif

^Yeop, and Mr. Baldwin is waaaay to young to play Ranul anway. In fact, on Andy Mangels website, you can find this picture of the author himself and two friends of his:
Above is a look at Mark (the person Ranul Keru was physically modelled after), author Andy Mangels, and Scot Bishop-Walker, the person who Titan's bartender was based upon.
