So will this have any sound effects at all or is it all quotes?

The Enterprise NCC-1701-A sounds include Alert, Impulse Engines, Phasers, Photons, Warp Drive Engaging and Transporter.

Looks pretty good, a bit of light bleed but not as bad as some of the TWOK releases. A definite purchase for me.

My only issue is the nacelle lighting is still terrible.

I guess......not to be a whatever, but that video.....wow. My favorite ship and I've looked at "promo" photos since the announcement just to watch this YouTube video?? ...What was wrong with the voices and ship lights? What happened to any of that ship??? I just kind of want to hold my old AA Enterprise-A and watch ST6 on repeat while crying! I mean seriously what happened? Prometheus, you like the dialogue, its nice and all,... but what else?

This could just be a prototype.... I'm sure the voices will be better and the lights brighter. It almost seemed like the batteries were low.

Looked great until the lights went out lol. My latest TWOK has light bleed in the same areas. He did say that this is a pretty final preproduction piece, but it could definitely be worse lol.

At 3.00 when he hold button down for 3 secs, it seems to be a light on feature?

I like the idea of a 10 second lights on feature, makes more sense for something that's battery powered.

I still really wish they'd just switch the the Bs stand without the peg part, the ball joint fits fine in the TWOK Enterprise and is a lot better.

It looks good. If I didn't already have a TWOK and  TWOK Battle damaged on my shelf I would consider getting this one. But as it is, if its not a new unmade ship I will have to pass.

Rizzo, et al, I really can't see what you guys are talking about - the voices seemed rich and deep to me, which is great in a toy - they could easily have been tinny. There's a wide selection of voice clips from pretty much the whole cast, and all of the movies that this ship appeared in! The lighting looks much as it was in the TWOK ship - which isn't surprising, since this is the same mold - and mold dictates light placement and wire conduits, particularly in the tight confines of this design.

As others have noted, any perceived distortion is likely a battery issue, which tallies with the lighting seeming a little dim - though I suspect that has more to do with the poor dynamic range on the camera used for this video.

Honestly, I don't understand the moaning!

The surface detail and paint (such as we could see in the video) also look grand. I remain a huge fan of the way the aztec pattern was incorporated into the mold back in the noughties. My only nitpick is the white impulse engines, but that might be something that will change, given that this is a near-production sample. If it doesn't change, it won't bother me.

I'm considering buying it, despite already having a much beloved TWOK ship, but since the design is repeated in-canon, my Enterprise line-up would be bolstered by its presence, and that bonus phrase is such a great play feature!

I love it.

I'm complaining, yes. After buying almost 95% of the stuff that DST produces and not trying to make a peep when I have to wait longer for stuff to be released, I see what to me is the flagship of all ships (fell in love with the A as a kid) but after much anticipation and great photos from different shows.....now the "close to final production" looks like it was molded out of butter and had batteries "pulled out of mothballs" put in it.

Kind of like being excited for a movie, and when you see the trailer for the first time it just sucks.

Don't know how to edit on my phone, but to clarify: 95% Star Trek stuff and YES, the lights on feature is absolutely friggin cool and is the only chance of me buying it

He said New York Toy Fair 'hopefully'. If it were any other company, I'd be as excited as all hell right now. As it's DST, I'll believe it when I see it! For now, let's keep expectations in check.

Final bet on what those two ships are, just in case they are announced:

Reliant, and Borg shape (Cube or Sphere).

Rizzo, the butter look is probably the video/lighting quality - note how, when the light was turned off, the quality of the mold appeared to improve slightly.

I get what you're saying about built-up expectations, and you absolutely have a right to complain, but I just don't agree with most of your complaints - or at least, I don't think you should be complaining about the ship when I think the video/batteries are probably at fault. I'm not sure what kind of expectations you had about this release that it could have fallen so far short of - this is pretty much what I expected, with some really neat extras.

Anyway, you're not satisfied, I get that. My trying to talk you down isn't going to do anything but insult you - apologies.

NYTF, or TFNY15, as they appear to be re-branding it this year, is February 14th to 17th - for anyone in the dark about that.

Prommie, I agree with your wait-and-see strategy. We have expected an announcement at a few trade shows now - sometimes with similar hinting coming out of DST. Let's see how it plays out.

I'll bet Reliant and K'tinga. At this point, everything has been denied, so why not make it an "I'd really like it to be" list?

Destructor!!, no offense and to Zach and DST no offense. If some Klingons found me and "beat me up"...I may stop buying Star Trek stuff and may feel a little offended. Its not going to happen. I felt let down by the video. I felt extremely let down by that video, close to production or not- it sucked. Im hoping to whatever higher calling that it was the lighting and batteries......because I'm a sucker for the E-A and the light on features- I am going to buy it but wait for anyone's reviews then piss around before said buying it. (Sorry I dont do preorders anymore for a few years, I used to) I just really hope that as DST has been on the last 2 ships, my socks are going to be knocked off and after 10 years I can scream; "TAKE MY MONEY AGAIN!!!!"

As for the new ships, I would've shelled out $$ for a reasonable exclusive of: USS Defiant-TOS, USS Lakota-DS9, USS Venture-DS9. I think that could have been feasible with different paint apps and the molds already made......the geek in me wants the DS9 Defiant and TOS Klingon D7 Cruiser.

I shoot these videos for fans' benefit, so they can hear the sounds before it arrives.

Sorry you don;t like my video, Rizzo. You've already got an A, and you didn't pre-order, so it wasn't really for you.

I wasn't lighting it to appease a perfectionist's eye as to paint smoothness and quality, I was trying to make it look dramatic. Plenty of people here shoot the kind of video you want, wait for one of those.

What does "molded out of butter" even mean?

This is a near-final sample. lights will go on for ten seconds with no sound if you hold down the button.
